In the general?

My point is if this is as progressive as she can get for the primaries, I am terrified of her position on issues in the general! Think about it...:scared:

3. I agree -if this is her progressive stance, we're in trouble. Christ, before
Clinton and the DLC followed the repukes rightward, left of center used to mean something. Now having progressive ideas a la Roosevelt, McGovern and Kennedy is considered the far left.

and holds a 100% NARAL rating (and 0% Christian Coalition rating), I don't think they'd want her.

28. I think her bieng
Republican is just a matter of admiting it. she is a left or rather "centrist" republican. all she needs is to come out of the closet so to speak. put the correct letter next to her name (R) and the mystery will be over. then she could actually answer questions, without fear from the right.

It seems her numbers have actually risen to 97% since last year (making it now 29 times out of 30). Lieberman's up to 87%, too; he's gone on a tear.

The list of everyone is http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/110/senate/party-voters/

Note that Clinton is actually above Biden, Dodd, and Obama.

46. The fact that the conventional wisdom is that she's a centrist only goes to show
how good her campaign is at spinning her. Even the Democrats buy the line that she isn't a liberal.

Edited on Sun Oct-21-07 05:02 PM by Rhythm and Blue
No candidate has ever had this strong a lead this late and not won the nomination, and she's done it without pandering to the progressive wing of the party. She's already running in the General, and she's been running in the General since at least 2002.

Strategic Vision: Clinton +5

Des Moines Register : Clinton +6
American Research Group: Clinton +6
Newsweek: Obama +4.

Average of all polls taken in the last week: Clinton+5.2

Her favorability ratings are improving, her lead in the primaries is steadily increasing, and she has a lead in Iowa polls for the first time in the primary season.

There is simply no evidence to support your assertion.

Look, they all do it. GWB pretended to be a moderate to win and if Hillary moderates some of her talk, it doesn't worry me. She is a POLITICIAN, that's what they do. She won't abandon choice or health care or any number of other important issues. I can hear it now. The right-wing nuts will say.. she is just saying that stuff but she's really a pinko liberal at heart. ( lol - they may be right)

Trying something kind of unprecedented...attempting t o run in a primary and general election at the same time...

And so far it seems to be working...

She has been consistent in her positions on the vast majority of issues...she leans to the liberal side of things, and I suspect she will stay there...

53. Hillary will not "shift" and she will most likely stay exactly where she is........
Now, if anyone should be suspect and liable to say "sorry" and change his views to pander to the centrist, it won't be Hillary nor Obama....it would instead be that candidate who has that kind of track record; the habit of saying "Sorry" on just about every position he had ever taken after losing his last election.
