4. We need a loose cannon to call them like he sees them.
If and when the Dems take over the White House, we aren't going to have time for political niceties. Someone is going to have to be in charge of getting all the ducks in a row so they can clean up as much as they can, as soon as possible. I can see Webb pointing his finger at what needs to be done and giving a nod to those who can do the job. He seems to be a take-charge kind of guy. I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.
Jeez -- he's one of the very few who says something and then actually DOES it. I wouldn't consider him a loose cannon at all. I think he'd make an excellent VP.
7. If Sen. Clinton gets the nomination she will probably need
to choose a southerner to balance the ticket, and who better than Jim Webb. His main drawback is his lack of experience, as I'm sure the Repubs would attack him for not having enough. I also believe he would carry Virginia for the Democrats and several other southern states as well.
13. Thats pretty much true, Jim Webb will have had
two years in the Senate by November of 2008, and served about a year as Secretary of the Navy under Reagan. Cheney served as Secretary of Defense during the first Bush's administration and served several terms in the US House of Reps. I believe Dan Quayle had served six years in the Senate when he was named as his running mate by George Bush senior.
