It's almost as if where you came from is more important than where you are now...

I know some will call this nit-picking, but shouldn't your allegiance, your tie should be to America if you are a citizen...

And shouldn't that come first...

1800's "Mick". One syllable, four letters.
1900's "Irish-American" Six syllables, 13 letters.
2000's "American of Irish Decent" Nine syllables, 21 letters.

At this rate of expansion in another fifty years we will need 15 syllables and 35 letters just to say "Mick".

And while some people are worrying that we are using too few syllables to describe Americans-not-of-Native-American-decent, global warming will have flooded all our coastal cities, gasoline will cost $137.59 a gallon, and the Republican Police State will be in full swing. Yes sir, this scarcity of syllables issue is a VITAL one to be concerned with.

Nobody ever says English-Americans or Americans of English descent. There isn't even a good insulting nickname for an Anglo-American..."Limey" is rather cute, actually. I suspect we're now a dwindling minority of the population, so maybe we should organize a support group or something. :evilgrin:
