Elect progressives where you can
Edited on Mon Oct-22-07 08:44 AM by cali
elect other democrats where you can't. Elect the John Testers in Montana, the Jim Webbs and Mark Warners in VA. By all means, support a progressive challenger to Ben Nelson in NE- if you can find one to run against him, but vote for Nelson in the general. Majorities count, and the bigger a dem majority, the more likely the passage of progressive legislation. Look back to 1933-35 for an example of why majorities count.

1. Psst! Your Freudian slip is showing!
"Elect progressives where you can; elect Democrats where you can't."

3. heh. I'll have to change that
but don't make too much of it. I think there are a lot of progressive dems. Hell, the CPC is the largest Caucus in the House.

4. This is the reality people need to understand.
If the Dems expand their majority, there will be progressive legislation passed. If they do not, or if reps win a majority, there will be NO progressive legislation passed.
Great post!

5. If more Dems were progressive to begin with, they would be able to expand their majority
But with Dems in Congress still letting the Republickers control the agenda and still refusing to take any kind of meaningful action against the high crimes and misdemeanors of the Junta.... Oh, well.

6. So...
"If more Dems were progressive to begin with, they would be able to expand their majority"

you're saying it's not worth it to help them expand the majority in 2008, and are willing to suffer another repub majority and White House?
