Is Bill Richardson still running?
I don't hear much about Bill Richardson? Is he still there? Does he just get his support from the SW?

6. The filing deadline for that race is Feb 12th
We'll know who our presidential nominee is before that. He's got plenty of time to change his mind and jump into that race. He's running fourth in most of the primary and national polls. If one of the top three stumbles badly, he'll have shot at the nomination. It's too early for him to drop out and run for the senate.

5. There are a few of us lonely Richardson supporters still around.
He's just not as popular on DU as the front runners and Kucinich. I'm hoping that he starts to gain back some of the momentum that he had at the first of the summer. He's overcome his initial problems with his debate and interview skills. He gave a fantastic speech recently on global sustainability that won praise for its substance and his delivery.

IMHO, his initial flubs in the first debate and on MTP hurt him. However, he's finally relearned how to deal with those situations and is greatly improved. His stance of immediate withdrawal from Iraq won him some initial support among Democrats. Some of the candidates have shifted their positions closer to his and he's lost a little of that support. The media perception is that the situation in Iraq has improved somewhat and that's also lessened the enthusiasm for his push for immediate withdrawal of our troops.

His platform fits my personal views best and I like his ability to muscle legislation through a congress so I'll continue to hope for a long shot miracle out of him. Like I noted in another thread, my initial choice during 2004 was Bob Graham. I tend to lean towards wonky straight talking folks like Graham, Richardson, and Gore.

7. what do you think it will take for him to break through?
he's getting practically no media coverage. Those who are non-political by nature have heard of Obama, Gore and Clinton but not Richardson.
