There are many Obama supporters who totally get it
and are appalled at this homophobic bigot being invited to peform for their candidate.

They are not offering kneejerk, offensive excuses.

They understand how completely vile this is and they are not letting rank partisanship get in the way of knowing basic right from wrong.

Kudos to them. I, for one, thank you.

1. I agree 100%, it's only a select few who are offering excuses
I think everybody knows which "few" I'm talking about.

3. You must have been away for the last couple of days lol
Obama is going on a "gospel tour" with a notorious anti-gay bigot, who has called homosexuality a "curse" and has declared a "war on homosexuality"

4. Sometimes a candidate f*cks up. And many supporters accept it and don't try to make excuses for
their candidate.

I applaud the Obama supporters for the way they handled this.

5. Every candidate will mess up at some point or another.
it's how they handle it afterwards that counts.

6. I wish the guy hadn't been invited.
Honestly, he really creeps me out.

I probably got overly defensive because people were taking what was almost certainly a vetting error and turning it into some damning indictment of Obama's soul.

The campaign screwed the pooch on this one.

9. The ones defending it are making a joke of themselves and doing Obama NO favors.
They are an embarrassment to him and DU.
