Senate Must REJECT Yet Another Bush Nomination of a Mississippi Judge with Poor Civil Rights Record

Call and Urge Your Senators NOW at (202) 224-3121 to Oppose Confirmation of Leslie Southwick, & to Support Efforts to Prevent a Vote on this Troubling Nominee, including a Filibuster

President Bush has done it again. This time he has nominated Leslie Southwick to a lifetime appointment on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit - the same Mississippi seat to which Charles Pickering and Michael Wallace were previous nominees. Neither Pickering nor Wallace was confirmed because of their troubling civil rights records. Now the Senate is poised to consider President Bush’s nomination of Southwick - who ALSO has problems upholding the civil rights of all people.

Senator Reid has scheduled Senate debate on Southwick’s nomination to begin TOMORROW (Tuesday) afternoon. So it’s critically important that your senators hear from you now that they must REJECT Southwick’s nomination!

CALL NOW! Call your senators right now at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to OPPOSE the lifetime nomination of Leslie Southwick to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and to support efforts to PREVENT his nomination from coming up for a vote – including a filibuster!

1. Unfortunately my senators are Bunning and McConnell; calling them
is a waste of air, which I am saving to use at the top of my lungs against the latter bas--rd when he runs in '08.

2. Idea for the next 15 months
Just vote them all down. Every last nominee out of this corrupt administration just torpedoed. No floor vote, don't even let them out of committee. And for sure do not allow these crooks to make any lifetime court appointments.
