My biggest problem with McCloset is that he's a symbol for false hope...
for young people struggling with their sexuality. The LAST thing they need is to be told they can change, the psychological damage of failure can lead to suicide.

If you want more information, and actually care, here's a website to peruse:

2. I was using a bunch of word replacements, McAsshole, McFuckstick, McFucker, etc.
Then I used McCloset and it just stuck. :)

By the way, on a personal note, I'm embarrassed to say that I share his first name and the first two letters of his last name.

3. The saddest thing is that anyone
would ever hope to change their true identity. It's amazing what damage a sick society can do to a person. McCloset's not only damaged, he spreads the sickness.

5. It's devastating that in this day and age people use their personal
belief in some "god" as a weapon against their fellow human beings.

Whether it's a prophet that enables misogynists to force women to wear burkas or mcCloset's gay hating god or the neo-nazis belief that they are the chosen race... the underlying sociopathic underpinnings are the same: racism, sexism, bigotry.

I'm a heterosexual woman and I stand with my fellow human beings against any sociopath using a deity for a personal and political agenda.

Thanks for the link. Time to educate myself.

6. oh boy, that's rich!
nice name for Donnie. So do you share last names with a hamburger salesman? lol

on a side note, and maybe you or cboy4 might know, do these type of people who claim they are being cured, sometimes have a habit of changing their names after the conversion? ever heard of such things. this is a big question for me right now because of an issue with an old situation in my life. anything you might know would be appreciated.

gay to straight or straight to gay, you're born one way or the other and thats that and tell people "It's a choice and you don't to live the 'lifestyle'" is absurd.

11. I survived a gay self-loathing suicide attempt at age 17.
This was after my family counselor promised to cure me with aversion therapy. It didn't work. The fuck-ups at the psych hospital in Mankato were no help either. They just ignored my anxiety about same-sex attraction. I am happily out now, but would like to pass on the experience a good friend had with the "ex-gay" ministry... He attended a tent revival that promised to cure him. He realized it was a load of BS and headed to the nearest gay bar, where he found the minister making out with another man.
