Harry and Nancy Betray US
Congressman Stark and Senator Dodd now now where you two stand, as do the rest of us know where you stand.

You two are really shooting for a coveted spot on a list of "Democrats" that includes Lieberman and Zell Miller.

Keep up the good work. It's only our Constitution at stake. It's only friends and family dying in Iraq.

And Jay, we can't forget you. $40K probably buys even more in WVA.

2. What I want to know is how they got in to any position of leadership?

3. I can answer that: Because their colleagues, like Senator Dodd
think highly of them.

4. I just don't understand why.
I'm sure they're like nice folks. But just listening to harry reid on the floor of the senate, he doesn't seem terribly articulate or show any real leadership. Leadership is standing by your convictions, whether it's unpopular or not, because you know it's right. and i don't think it's disputable that the main reason why the dems retook congress last year was that america was sick of the war in iraq. why can't they do anything about it?

5. I can't answer any of that but
it appears that Senator Reid's colleagues feel differently than you and I do. Could be they know something we don't.

6. "they know something we don't" was the reason we were given for supporting the war in the 1st place.
Then after that excuse didnt work any longer, it was changed to "we were fooled."

Turns out that the base knew something that the DEM leaders didnt know, or pretended not to know. We were not "fooled" and we knew something they didnt know- not the other way around.

Maybe the truth is they dont know shit. Ever think of that? Multiple failures seems to back that up more than the notion some sort of secret wisdom they are saving for later.

The fact that "Senator Reid's colleagues feel differently than you and I do" doesnt really solve a damn thing- it just means that they will do whatever they want and then say: "Dont question us- we know something you dont."

Maybe Senator Reids's colleagues have been off the mark as much as he is- as many failures seem to suggest.

7. Whatever.
I'm not arrogant enough to suggest that I know everything. And as I nor any of my reps supported the war- along with the majority of dems in the House and almost half in the Senate, the claim you made in your first sentence isn't exactly valid.

8. I dont generally beleive that DEM leaders "know something we dont." Not after Iraq.
And you can say what you want, but the "they know something we dont" talking point was indeed an excuse floated around for the benefit of the many DEMS who supported the war.

"They were fooled" was the next excuse once that one was proved to be bullshit.

It's not arrogant for me to point out that "They know something we dont" isnt exactly the most effective or comforting excuse anymore.

9. I think it's fair to say that they know something about their colleagues
that neither you nor I do.

11. I think it's fair to say that their colleagues often exercise poor judgement in leadership.
See the last 8 or so years of failed battles and a multibillion dollar endless war for more details.

So we dont really disagree on the fact that many DEMS think the leaders are just great, for what ever reason.

If there are things about Harry that they have failed to inform us about, I'm all ears- but that doesnt translate into his success.
