No?

So stop fucking posting rw garbage about mine.

Earlier it was Jonah Goldberg and now someone has posted a rw blog.

1. I'd be fine hearing it.
Gonna have to deal with those smears eventually.

Might as well get on with it.

2. No we don't
We have to deal with those smears because we pay attention to the smears. It's time for that to stop, imo. We can't continue to act as though the right can be reasoned with. Let the candidates give their rebuttal and move on. Doing the same old thing is kicking us in the butt.

3. Ignoring the smears didn't work out so well for John Kerry.
I believe they need to be addressed early, often and most importantly vigorously.

JMHO though.

5. You read my mind. I admit that I was one who intially made that mistake early one
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 07:42 PM by Dr Fate
Early on, long before it was in the media, my complaint was "Stop using Rush's talking points" when Kerry's people should have been adding rebuttles to their quivers, knowing that Rove would eventually use it.

I was all for Kerry responding long before the rest of the party was (If they ever were)-but I almost fell into the trap on an individual level...

The GOP will all but tell be people to "go out and vote against the socialist woman" and they will do so.

People can believe what they want, but it is a factor.

9. What the hell are you talking about? I helped to spread what smears?
Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 05:28 PM by Dr Fate
Tell us exactly what you are talking about- you have my permission to pull up my old posts if you need to.

Exactly what "smears" concerning the SBV's did I help spread during the 2004 election process?

I'm all ears.

The truth is that in 2003 & 2004, you would be hard pressed to find someone who was more blindly partisan for DEMS & Kerry on this board. I wish I had worked harder to counter the fake charges from the get-go, instead of merely bashing the people who were giving us fair warning.

8. I didn't say that
the candidates shouldn't clarify with a response. I said they should. Kerry didn't...he should have. But, if you think the candidate wants his/her supporters to beat a dead horse (which is what we do when we expect that the right will listen to reason) after they've addressed the smear, you're sadly mistaken...imo. Our talkers on TV should repeat the words of the candidate and change the subject when they're asked to respond (spread) the gossip.

We've gotta get better at this. The right has this down to a science.

4. Yes. It's always good to know your opponent's thinking as well or better than they do.
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 07:37 PM by Dr Fate
And with Repubs, it aint hard!!!

May the best canddiate win, but please, Hillary people, grow some skin and drop the persecution complex- soon enough we may need to see that you can handle RW attacks rather than just complain about them.

Refute those RW arguments to the best of your ability is my advice...

Let's not make the mistake we mad with Kerry & the SBVs- ignoring it and merely claiming that it is a RW talking point didnt work.

11. Part of any campaign is to parse through opposition research
Whether Jonah Goldberg or anyone else points out things about any of the candidates, you have to just look at how they will try to justify why people should believe their demonization tactics.

It's a very unfortunate part of politics.

12. How many threads do you have to start a day? Why don't we start a "rinsd forum"?
Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 06:10 PM by PurityOfEssence
You and your candidate haven't cornered the market on being put-upon and persecuted, and you've hardly been a shrinking violet yourself.

Cries of persecution from the far-and-away frontrunner's camp are a bit flimsy in the first place when the endless goading triumphalism is taken into account, but when done by those with no compunction about going for the carotid, they have a very tinny ring.

13. Considering how left wing my candidate is, practically all attacks on him are from the right wing.
That's something to think about. :)

14. I hear it all the time from the right and the left.
I thought this week was turning out to be a great week for Hillary on DU considering my candidate is getting accused of being an unpatriotic, muslim terrorist from the right, and "god knows what" from the left.

Also, no one, especially Obama supporters, should be using right wing sources to bash Democratic candidates, considering all the racist crap they print about Obama.
