What Would It Take?
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 10:31 PM by MannyGoldstein
OK - so what Bush treachery could the Congressional Democrats enable that would cause you to finally say "Enough! I'm not voting for these Quislings again! I'll work to throw every last one of them out, so we can get actual Democrats!"?

Torture? Warrantless wiretapping? Politicizing every branch of government? Endless war as a means of sexual pleasure? What would be the straw that breaks the camel's back?

(Or have you embraced helplessness?)

1. SCOTUS
That's my only reason to go to the polls in '08 & vote for the dem candidate.

Well, unless Biden or Kucinich win the nomination. Then I will happily pull the lever. (Ok, so I fill in an oval that is read by an optical system, which digitizes my vote & makes it manipulative. :banghead: )

2. That's a good question, Manny. Seriously. But asking it HERE...
...puts people in a weird position because, basically, it's against the rules to promote the removal of a Democrat who holds offics.

I know Skinner could never have forseen anything as bizarre as our nation's political climate today, but I can understand why DU's rules on this matter haven't changed since its inception. I'm uncertain how so close a linkage between this website and the Democratic Party will play out given the choices the party has made, especially recently.

So, really, there isn't a final straw as I see the reading of the rules. Personally I probably lost all hope in the Democratic Party when they voted to give Bush and his cronies retroactive immunity for the torture.

That move really sickened me as it should sicken and worry all citizens.

But, like the battered spouse in a bad relationship I stay and think...who else will treat me better? Not all the time, but that's my answer tonight.

3. Fire Them All!
Every one that has bowed to the rPresident and voted to support his machinations should be removed by vote.
They can't be trusted to do anything in the interest of the people. They are serving their corporate masters and they should all be fired for their betrayal. Even if a novice such as a Cindy Shehann runs against Pelousy, vote for Cindy!
