Folks, about this primary and caucus mess...
It's not the fault of the individual states nor is it the fault of the candidates that this has become, for lack of a better reason, a complete cluster fuck...

IT's all about the News media playing the game far too hard...

It's about the news media that would rather go the easy way and report on whose leading who and making the whole thing into a horse race instead of a campaign...

Not that the candidates and the party practice aren't at least partly culpable...

But if the news media would do more than point and shoot the campaign wouldn't be eternal...

And it wouldn't be reduce to sound byte campaigns...

The off shoot of all this is that government becomes politics and so nothing gets done and then the blowhards like Louie Dodds get to pontificate how bad the government is right before he reports on the latest polls, the latest survey...

And no one knows how to say stop!!!!

Jimmy Carter won Iowa not because he had a focus group and a caucus whip and precinct captains...

He won because he got out and walked and drove all over the state while his potential opponents were busy doing other stuff...

Anyway, Newt knew all along how to play the media and cut our legs off while we were trying to govern...

And they didn't change when they got into office...

It's all about the Showwwwwwww....

And we have to stop it or we will get nothing but an empty feeling and a failed democracy...

That's my two cents...

1. Seems like the media and the republicans are in cahoots...
They all know where their bread is buttered, don't they?

The Show sells newspapers...

And fuck getting anything done in the government anyhow...

Just keep the money coming in...

And to hell with the rest of us...

2. PEGGY!!!
F-BOMB? :wow:

The gop is starting to get it's due with the RNC penalizing states for moving up as well.

In my defense of Iowa's position I have repeatedly told folks that we only determine who Iowan's believe should be the nominee and the other states can do the same. But, with the constant medial blah blah blah and the lemming-like attitude of some the winner of Iowa (or one of the top three) ends up being the nominee and if they aren't the president come January WE get the spanking.

Here's something to make your day brighter

3. My dear Debi...
I do drop those from time to time!

Only when appropriate, however...;-)

Thanks for the hug...

I hear you about Iowa...

I think the early states carry an extra burden...
