Hillary's Secret Weapon: Gerbils!

Now it can be told! I humbly submit to you a frothy column by one Ken Hughes at the American Chronicle, intriguingly titled "Fred Thompson Is The Media’s Chosen 2008 “Village Idiot” ".

"For as many presidential elections as I can recall two things are cretin, the media chooses who they perceive to be the most vulnerable candidate to tag as the election seasons “Village Idiot.” Then one candidate always puts his foot in his mouth driving him out of contention. The first honor has been bestowed on such great men as Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and now Fred Thompson. If Fred Thompson follows in the foot steps of any one of these men he’ll make one hell of a fine president and become a credit to this nation. "

Yes, two things are cretin! Or should that be cretins?

Mr. Hughes has made a curious list of what he considers "great men" of US history. I'm sure Fred Thompson will appreciate Ken's endorsement, "He's a great man, just like Nixon!"

But Hughes reserves the real shocker for paragraph five:

"The Republican nominee who comes up against Hillary will get an education in dirty politics 101 like they’ve never seen before. If Fred Thompson is that candidate he will need to be better at handling the Medias criticism than he has so far. Hillary has a propaganda machine that Joseph Gerbils of the old Nazi Party would marvel at."

Did you hear that? Gerbils in the machine??

But that's not the end of it:

"Rudy Giuliani is the only Republican candidate who is capable of going toe to toe, (mano a mano) with Hillary."

Hands, toes, what does it matter? What's important is that some prehensile appendages are involved.
Which is important when fending off the gerbils.

"Rudy Giuliani is also the most likely candidate to put his foot in the preverbal dung."

How about that, it's PRE-VERBAL dung, apparently Rudy doesn't even wait to open his mouth before putting his foot in. And we can cross Ken off Mr. Giuliani's list of supporters because "Rudy Giuliani is a New Yorker and in the heat of battle New Yorkers have been known to lose their cool and get nasty."

Meow! But does Mr. Hughes truly believe that Fred Thompson will be able to win the election against Hillary?
I'll leave the final word to him:

"Fred Thompson has a cretin Southern sophistication Hillary lacks."
