Four down, six to go
Submitted by davidswanson on Fri, 2007-10-26 15:43. Activism | Congress | Spying

By Senator Chris Dodd

If you haven't yet, please take a moment to call and thank Senators Kennedy, Feingold, Biden, and Cardin.

All four have indicated their opposition within the Judiciary Committee to any FISA bill that contains retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies.

But that's only 40% of where we need to be to stop the provision in the Judiciary Committee.

Take a moment to make one last phone call before the weekend and ask the remaining members of the committee where they stand, and thank those who have already taken the right position.

Otherwise, please consider this a short note of thanks from everyone on the campaign for all your support over the past week.

Whether it was blog traffic, emails sent to friends, your contributions, and offers to volunteer ... I think everyone has the sense we are on the brink of something special here.

Let's keep it going.

Tim Tagaris
Chris Dodd for President

P.S. Just because it's the weekend, doesn't mean it's time to rest. In fact, if it's Sunday ... it's Meet the Press.

This week Senator Dodd will be Tim Russert's guest. Please take a moment and let your friends know to tune in as we take our discussion about Iraq, Iran and Restoring the Constitution even wider on the national stage.

7. Coburn's office says he hasn't made a specific comment on it yet.
I am a constituent, and I told the staffer I was very much against this, and it would set a bad precedent to excuse corporations from committing crimes.

Coburn is such a crazy f*ck, he probably thinks this is a good thing. No doubt NSAT&T is donating heavily to the good doctor's coffer. :(
