Obama: Al Gore Would Serve in "Very Serious Capacity, If He's Willing"
Edited on Fri Oct-26-07 03:08 PM by DrFunkenstein
Another reason I'm more and more in Obama's camp everyday. If Gore does not run, then I think Obama will finally get my wholehearted support.

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama says Al Gore would play a key role in his administration if he wants one, but he won't say whether he'd ask him to be his running mate.

The Illinois senator said Gore would be involved in his administration in a "very senior capacity, if he's willing" but joked: "I will also be honest with you: having won the Nobel Peace Prize and an Oscar, being vice president again would probably be a step down for him."

1. Good answer.
You let Al do whatever Al wants to do.

3. According to Al, he will not be part of anyone's administration.
Stated outright on the Larry King Show.

Now I wait for something definitive on his run.

2. I think every candidate would utilize Gore in such a way "if he was willing".
Not only for the political oomph, but I believe they all are concerned about the environment and who better to help and advise than Gore?

I bet even Hillary would make the attempt to recruit him.

4. Actually, I Think Clinton Would Be The One Candidate That Would Hesitate
The bad blood between the Clintons and the Gores is pretty well known. Besides, I think Hillary Clinton is a fairly controlling person, especially about message, and she might fear that he would "overstep" his bounds in a prominent environmental role that could erode her support from whatever poll-tested niche group she is courting.
