BobThe Drummer's poll: showing us how small the DU community really is?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3649440

It's been up about 20 hours, and has only 350ish votes.
Will it end up demonstrating just how small the number of active DU members are?

1. It doesn't show DU participation
It shows GDP participation. I get the impression many DUers are reluctant to participate in GDP

17. You should add Obama. He co-sponsored a bill similar to K/L, before he was against it.
Skipping votes and having your bill never voted on is a god way to stay off shit lists!

6. I think many are sick of the handful of hillary supporters dominating the conversation
I bet if you could look back somehow, you would see that the numbers have been on a slow decline.
I, for one, just have to stay away because if you question Ms. Clinton or want to discuss the issues or even want to discuss another candidate, you are labled a hillary hater...

When free thinking and free speech become hampered, why not move on to another board where opinions can be freely expressed or why not just walk away and do something else with you time? I think many of us have

10. That's pretty funny
With 12% of GDP reporting support for Hillary, it's odd that you would think they are "dominating the conversation".

And since does free speech mean you get to express your opinion, but people who disagree can't express theirs?

15. It really only takes two or three.
Anybody who posts here way more often than the average is going to seem to be dominating certain conversations. I'm not passing judgment, it's just a function of the way this forum works. Anybody can post as often as they want. Moderators don't edit for quantity. If there are two or three motivated posters with the same agenda, we get intensive thread intervention 24/7.

20. I can see how that makes some sense
seeing as how I'm on here for hour after hour.

But I don't see why Hillary would have supporters that can spend so much time. Statistics suggest that the most active supporters would be distributed proportionally amongst all the candidates.

14. It's fun to note Obama's 10% DU support makes 50% of the GDP posts.
Edwards supporters, with much more DU support, seem to be able to control themselves.

21. Yes, Edwards supporters have done a fine job overall
There are bad apples in every bunch, but as a group they've been wonderful. Lots of positive threads about how their candidate is taking it to * and the corporations and hardly any rw bull

And usually posts in a positive manner.

12. Edwards 126, DK 110, Clinton 47, Obama 37, Biden 35...
Obama in 4th? His supporters seem to do a disproportionate amount of posting.

Poll result (382 votes)
Biden (35 votes, 9%) Vote
Clinton (47 votes, 12%) Vote
Dodd (16 votes, 4%) Vote
Edwards (126 votes, 33%) Vote

Kucinich (110 votes, 29%) Vote
Obama (37 votes, 10%) Vote
Richardson (8 votes, 2%) Vote

18. Enthusiam perhaps.
I'm fascinated that there's so little Edwards chatter on the board even though he has so much support. The "Sleeping Giant"?!

13. Most Boards Are Like That
If all 100,000 members posted simultaneously this board would crash...

Same for Freak Republic and almost every message board on the net...
