and Diane Feinstein? Actually, if Hillary took Barbara Boxer as her running mate, that would probably motivate me to vote for her than any other reason. Barbara Boxer has the makings of a great leader, Hillary Clinton does not.

3. I don't think you have to be a sexist to not like HRC, but that's a weak argument
It could be that those other women do not threaten any of your gender hot buttons. Maybe because they have never run for president. Some people think of the presidency as special, and project their aspirations, etc onto it. Maybe you've a hangup about infidelity. Maybe you got a hangup about a million other things. (and by you I don't mean YOU, itsrobert)

People are queer things. The last thing I expect of them is consistency

7. So...is not liking infidelity a HANGUP? Geez...have we gone THAT FAR?
I guess we all had better erase the word "cheat" from our vocabulary! If we don't like our males or females seeking multiple partners WE are the one with a hangup? OMG

I have seen some strange rationalizations before...but do you even believe this one?

8. It is if you think Clintons infidelities are any of your business
Edited on Sun Oct-28-07 05:50 PM by cuke
I never said not liking infidelity is a hangup.

25. Sorry...my goof...then what on Earth did you mean by....
"Maybe you've a hangup about infidelity. Maybe you got a hangup about a million other things"

I don't think fidelity is a hangup. I do think Bill's infidelities are my business, because without them, Gore would not have felt it necessary to distance himself from an administration with peace and prosperity. Gore would normally have been a shoo-in for election. But, because of Bill's penis, we have Bush. Thanks, Bill!

26. People are queer things
There's no limit on what someone can get hung up on.

I didn't say "fidelity is a hangup". I said some people have hangups *about* fidelity. For example, some people are overly suspicious of their partners fidelity, to the point of paranoia. There are a million others.

And infidelity isn't what caused the problems you speak of; society's prurient interest and sanctimony did. They do it in Europe all the time, and they don't get replaced for it.

28. It might be a suggestion to you not to tell people they might have hangup about lots of things....
Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 07:45 AM by earthlover
if you want to be on speaking terms with them.

You can parse words all you want. But you certainly implied we have lots of hangups and I don't appreciate that.

20. Maybe it because there are better candidates out there.
She is at the bottom of my rankings. She can't say she didn't know she was voting for a pretext to war this time.

Just a guess.

But seriously, you should stop this activity. You are like a booger in the path of the steamroller that is the Clinton juggernaut. Resistance of any sort is futile.

10. I don't think that not voting or not wanting to vote for a woman makes
anyone sexist, as long you didn't vote or didn't advocate voting for her on the basis of the fact that she is a woman. Or at least that's what Bill tells all of us.

12. I'd vote for Boxer in a heartbeat...
I flew roundtrip for the day to DC in January 2005 to support her for being the only Senator to stand up and contest the Ohio vote. Senator Boxer has guts and integrity and commands respect. I love Senator "Elections Have Consequences" Boxer. In my book, she has earned the right to be the first woman President. So no, being sexist has nothing to do with it....It is Hillary the candidate that is the problem.

because I'm female somehow that means I should automatically support for her. That's just ludicrous but they feel I'm somehow betraying women by not supporting Clinton.

30. No reason for US to feel that way just because The Corporate Press orders us to.
 After all, some of us see through the facade and all the push polls: I still do not love Big Brother.

To the contrary, I would be letting down my young daughter and those who come after her by raising up another Corporate Politician JUST BECAUSE she's also a woman. There's much more to voting that such simplistic logic as "same gender" or "same race."
