Alveda King: McClurkin has said "nothing unloving": now think of aborted children.

ATLANTA, Oct. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and niece of the late Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., today reacted to the demand by gay and lesbian groups for presidential candidate Barack Obama to remove gospel singer Donnie McClurkin from a campaign rally to be held Sunday in South Carolina.

McClurkin, a Grammy winning artist, has in the past indicated that he believes God can change homosexual orientation. Gay rights groups view his belief as intolerable.

"The bottom line is that all of us are sinners," said Dr. King. "Whether or not one agrees with Donnie McClurkin, he was talking about his own experience and said nothing that was unloving. Each and every one of us is called to repent of our sins, love the Lord, and love our neighbor, whether our neighbor is gay or straight or, I have to add, born or unborn."

"There is no group more discriminated against or treated more callously in our nation than the unborn," added Dr. King. "For every person killed because he is gay, there must be hundreds of thousands or millions killed because they are unborn. My prayer is that Senator Obama and the gay activists will stop arguing for a moment, meditate on love and inclusion, and think of these children."

she does not need to be running around calling herself doctor. She has an honorary doctorate. It is very bad form for people with honorary doctorates to use the title, except in formal settings at the university that awarded the degree.

It just makes her look desperately pretentious.
