and am now not only the volunteer coordinator, but a State Party Delegate in my new home.

I asked why some of the other folks with more time in weren't chosen, the county committee said they thought I was assertive and they wanted 'young blood' (and I'm over 50, don't know whether to laugh or cry about that one!)

so suggestions on how an old broad like me can get the college kids out to help us?

Seriously, are you near a college town? Didn't you move to the boonies? I'd check out the alternative papers and see what kind of issues they're talking about - whether it's global warming or not enough open access to a river for tubing (that actually was an issue when I was in school - oh so many moons ago...) - find what the kids are concerned about and relate it to politics. Even if it's just too high a fee on concert tickets (user fees are "republican taxes").

I've really enjoyed reading your posts, even before you moved to southern NM (where I live)-Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed by life and your posts always give me hope, give me a sense of strength.
