2. why do you take the repukes at their word?
That's a rather extraordianary thing to do.

They don't want her.

I don't smell a set up- whatever you may mean by that.

15. Because they have no leverage on any other candidate. All negatives on Hill & Bill.
Repubs don't want Hill and especially Bill back in the White House and their base will come out and ensure that it doesn't happen. With Obama, a much tougher opponent and almost impossible to beat as the Dem nominee. Why pick your opponent if you don't consider them weak?

16. surely you're not that naive???
no leverage on an other candidate? think again, my friend. Obama? You have heard of the Southern Strategy right? And no, it doesn't just apply to the south. Edwards? Can you say trial lawyer, shallow pretty boy?

As to why pick on her: Because they know she's the toughest campaigner and she has the best campaign and a shitload of money. They know they need to start in on her early.

3. Yes, and it stinks to high Heaven
Either the Republickers feel she is the weakest candidate, or they would not mind if she won. Either way, I feel very uneasy.

4. You are seeing three things in play here
1 - The Republicans think the country hates Hillary as much as they do. The rest of the country doesn't.

2 - There are a significant number of moderates who voted for Bush, and are self identified as 'conservative' and they actually support Hillary.

3 - Some Republicans know how much of a threat Clinton is, and they are trying to taint her campaign with that meme.

7. None of their candidates can excite their base -- but she can
If Colin Powell decided to run tomorrow as a Republican, I don't think you'd be hearing so much from the right about Hillary.

10. Link?
What you are smelling may not be a "set-up" at all. The noxious odor you detect, appears to be coming from your post.

13. Yes. I also think the MSM wants a Hillary candidacy.
She will receive and accept large corporate donations and spend lots of money on TV ads. And, she will be extremely controversial. The MSM will sell lots of their product and get lots of viewers to watch the reruns of the Monica saga (and the '90s terrorist acts) with timely updates of course for those of us who remember the first go-round of those stories and commentary and historical reviews for those of us who were too young to appreciate or understand the excitement and innuendos way back when.

In contrast, the Republicans and the MSM do not like Edwards at all. He is not accepting the large corporate donations and hasn't spent much and will not spend much on TV ads for his campaign. Also, Edwards is speaking about issues the MSM and the Republicans do not want mentioned: rural poverty, labor rights, fair trade, health care, etc. The Republicans hate those issue because they appeal to ordinary people who either haven't voted or haven't voted Democratic since they fell for the Reagan "Government is the enemy" scam and the subsequent DLC takeover of the Democratic Party. The MSM does not like those issues because the big corporations that sponsor the MSM's news shows turn up their noses when those issues are discussed.

When we table for Edwards, we meet a lot of people who are worried about the polls. We just tell them. We are here to let you know that Edwards is alive and well and running on a platform that will help you. Edwards offers solutions that will help solve the problems of the ordinary people in our country. Hillary offers solutions for the problems of the MSM, the big corporations and the Republican Party -- like how to get one of the horrible, Republican losers running on their side to win.

Take your pick. Who do you want: Hillary, the candidate touted as the front-runner by the MSM and the Republican Party, or Edwards, the real Democrat and last choice of the MSM and the Republican Party? It's your choice.
