I don't see him entering the fray, but we should know by the end of the week unless there's some other rule I'm not aware of.

Make your primary opportunity count for '08

October 28, 2007 6:00 AM

The candidate filing period for the 2008 New Hampshire presidential primaries ends on Friday, Nov. 2. We may not know for a few weeks yet the exact date when voters will take to the polls, but we are fairly certain we have entered the final 10 weeks of the most intense primary campaigning we have ever seen.

You don't have to drive far, if at all, to see them. For example, Republican presidential hopefuls John McCain and Mitt Romney along with Democrats Barack Obama and Bill Richardson were in our neighborhood this past week. Democratic hopefuls John Edwards and Hillary Clinton and candidates from both parties are expected to be in the region this coming week.

And this constant parade of Republican and Democratic candidates will only become more intense as a majority of voters will finally start paying closer attention to those seeking to succeed President Bush in January 2009.

1. That won't stop the hard core gorites
I ran a poll, and many of them won't give up on Gore until after the Convention. It's a sickness to cling to a delusion.

2. Mystery? More like mental torture
November 2nd will be here and gone quickly but it won't put the issue to rest. Not until Hillary is crowned queen and even then there will be rumblings. Enough allready.

12. It's the War of the Roses
In a country of 300 million people there has to be someone who's name doesn't end in Clinton and Bush.

10. do you consider it your job to police each post for
hyperbole and scold the offenders? i've read 3 threads since i came to the board this evening and you've been in all 3 of them figuratively smacking hands with a ruler.

4. I disagree that it's his last chance, or the mystery will be over.
It would be wonderful if Gore announced for the presidency without entering the NH primary. We'd get the final nail on the coffin of NH or Iowa 'determining' the Democratic candidate, or "determining" who gets the big money for the rest of the primary campaign. The delegates from those two states are negligible, so he wouldn't be missing much if he announced late.

Al's real contribution would be the end of the NH/IA charade. I don't think that will happen, but it would be positive if Gore announced AFTER the NH filing period. (I'm not trying to encourage others to think he will actually do that, but just that it would be a welcome development.)

8. I think Mike Bloomberg mentioned that also.....hmmmmmm?
He doesn't need money and he did say he was waiting to see who the candidates were after the conventions. Maybe that's Gore's reasoning too.

How many independents can run ? I'm sure if it's Hillary v. Guilliani, we'll see a lot of new faces next summer :D

9. Couldn't see that happening in a million years.
Gore is a democrat through and through. If he wants to be president, he'd run as one. He wouldn't pull a Nader, because he realizes that splintering the liberal vote only means a win for republicans.
