Don't blame Hillary for Obama's actions
Bringing up Hillary is a lame defense to Obama's actions in the gospel tour. You know, Hillary is not responsible for everything in the world, especially if it is your candidate that fucked up.

Yes I'm a Hillary supporter and I even have some sympathy for Obama because I don't think he is homophobic and this has been blown up like every thing Hillary does is blown up here. But that doesn't excuse Obama for his poor judgement, just that it isn't Hillarys fault.

And you know what this won't hurt Obama at all in the polls, sorry but that is the truth. Just trying to have a reality check here. To sum up ,Obama did screw up for people of the "progressive" community but it is not a mistake that will hurt him in the polls and Hillary has nothing to do with this incident.

5. Hold Hillary accountable for her actions
If Mcwhatever is a horrible mistake, then so is meeting with the homophobic republican prayer group year after year, and accepting support from other homophobic ministers in the black community, like Harold Mayberry. What about her SC state co-chairs who voted for the constitutional amendment that banned gay marriage, John Matthews and Linda Short. Where's the outrage about that. What about Darrell Jackson's remarks regarding the same amendment, where he expressed his opposition to homosexuality while abstaining from voting on it, "My personal moral position is what I believe and what I subscribe to. I don't have to come here and try to legislate it.."

It is so obviously trumped up horseshit when one gay singer gets so much flack and all these people associated with Hillary go unnoticed.

7. When will you start a thread
expressing the horror that she has state co-chairs that voted to ban gay marriage?

8. Oh come on
I said I have sympathy for Obama and you still are snarky, I will not start any threads attacking Hillary. That is for the ever present Hillary bashers to do, and they aren't shy about it.

9. Agreed..and we should look at all the homophobes supporting candidates
The Donnie McClurkin event was unfortunate and was hurtful to many in the LGBT community and elsewhere. I certainly hope that the Obama campaign as well as others do some more vetting on their supporters who make a high profile to check out their record on important issues like homophobia.

The same scrutiny on the Obama campaign should be applied evenly with the Clinton campaign and involvement from people like Rev. Harold Mayberry in Oakland, CA, who is equally in the homophobic camp.

Granted, while Democratic candidates should not assume the religious community should be just jettisoned due to a few leaders that find homosexuality "unChristian", there has to be a focus on more progressive Christians out there (and there are a lot of them) that would set a better example as followers of the Big Whoever In The Sky.
