3. His promise...
To eschew the politics of cynicism...if people were looking for someone to criticize other Democrats they better look elsewhere...

Actually uses the Politics of Hope line...

2. I don't get it
Because the news media decided to zoom in on and pan across three black faces near the end? Is that it? If so, you're out of your mind.

I hope that's not it, and I hope I'm missing something here...

4. Brother...
Either you haven't been paying attention or didn't listen to his comments...

peruse the political news today and see if there is anything Edwards is doing he claimed in that piece he wouldn't do.

6. Elmer I wish your candidate the best of luck

I wouldn't point at other Democrats running for office. She might want one for a running mate. Then how would you feel about that? How much ammo would the other side have thanks to mud thrown by Dems at Dems?

9. I'm talking about the PR value Fox, Rush, etc....
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 08:25 PM by Omaha Steve

Rush admits he reads THIS blog. They will be sure to point out as the primaries start, how the Dems are fighting in house over the candidates is what I'm getting at. Last post of the night.

15. Yeah it was pretty good...
Not Hillary's best night but she didn't do bad...won't affect her frontrunner status. Edwards did better than usual, though I don't think he landed any blows that will affect the race...may buck up his supporters some. Obama seemed kind of off again...he is just not good in debate formats...

Biden did well, Richardson ok for him, Dodd nothing different. Kucinich...well...who really cares...

I was very happy Gravel was gone...

10. I did
Here's the summary

It's not about attacking other democrats.

does he do that?

It's about making America believe in itself again

ok

is everything possible?

according to him, yes

is his campaign based on cynicism?

no

is it based on hope?
maybe

we don't believe in looking down on anybody
ok

we don't believe in tearing people apart
ok

we believe in bringing people together

so, all this is, is an edited newscast, of John Edwards, talking to a town hall, where some shitbag director decided to cut to the minorities when he was talked about ~not~ looking down on them, and you think this is somehow relevant?

My my my, you are really desperate.

I mean, REALLY desperate.

Like REALLY desperate

5. I don't get it either ...
The fact that he said he's not going after the other candidates? Well, maybe in '03/04 there wasn't really anything to attack as there is now? Anyway, I don't really see him so much "attacking" as simply making it clear that there are differences between Hillary and him.

7. You are right.
The word 'attack' is getting used way too much and doesn't make any sense in most instances.

I'm going to borrow a phrase I heard today.

This isn't a pillow fight...it's an election.

14. No contradiction here
He is clearly showing the differences he has with Senator Clinton. In no way are these personal attacks.
