Giuliani Hits Back at Biden (and Biden hits back at Giuliani!)

After Senator Joseph R. Biden’s line during the Democratic debate tonight that a sentence for Rudolph W. Giuliani consists of a noun, a verb, and 9/11, Mr. Giuliani’s communications director, Katie Levinson, responded with this statement:

As the pundits work to figure out who won the debate tonight, its pretty clear Rudy Giuliani was the real winner. It is increasingly apparent Rudy is the one the Democrats are most worried about running against in the general election.

Senator Biden’s comments were of particular interest. The good senator is quite correct that there are many differences between Rudy and him. For starters, Rudy rarely reads prepared speeches and when he does he isn’t prone to ripping off the text from others. And, Senator Biden certainly falls in to the bucket of those on the stage tonight who have never had executive experience and have never run anything. Wait, I take that back, Senator Biden has never run anything but his mouth.

Such a desperate attack from Senator Biden is to be expected considering I — Katie Levinson — have a better chance of becoming President than he does.

Update | 11:30 p.m. The Biden campaign responded to the Giuliani campaign’s response:

“We are well aware that former Mayor Giuliani will attempt to drag this race into the mud where the Republicans like to wage their campaigns. It’s pretty obvious that they can’t defend themselves on the real charge that Mr. Giuliani walked away from the cops and firefighters who were waiting for the 9/11 Commission to be enacted and the Biden crime bill to be restored.”

37. I thought that it was funny that the comment from the Giuliani camp seemed

a little pissed off - like an angry staffer just sat down and banged it out without the usual second reading to make sure it was "okay",. They could have stated those same digs a little more "politely", but it's almost as though they were just too mad to care! I think that's hysterical!!

I was really pleased with Biden's response - and the alacrity with which it was dispensed. The zings were on the IMPORTANT issue - one on which Rudy is running his campaign, but subtle and classy in its delivery.

I just find the whole exchange highly amusing!

The video at YouTube has now been view over 11,000 times. No expensive 30 second commercial will have nearly the impact and it was FREE. Meanwhile, it will be shown on all the news shows.

Also I liked the way he equated the Iran resolution to the increase in gas prices, something most people probably weren't aware of.
