1. Gobama
He started out a little slow but not for long before the greatness kicked in! I'm proud. :)

17. Thank you for posting his highlights from tonight's debate.
You've helped me deconstruct your candidate's views.

23. Read some of the other posts on this thread if you want to see that
If you want to 'deconstruct' Obama's performance (which you were not doing in your initial comment here BTW) go on another thread or start your own.

Buh bye.

State his beliefs and why you agree.

Jeebus, Al Gore nailed it in "The Assault on Reason".

24. It's fantastic. I read it on vacation in June.

Gore's historical frame of reference over how we were more engaged in debate once pamphlets were printed, compared to how we now are forced to scream at our TV's without anyone talking back spoke deeply to me.

15. I read that article already.
I guess an angry Clinton supporter wrote it. It's the only thing I've seen tonight that says such nonsense.

16. Yes, but I can't help but wish that Obama and Edwards would join forces?
I don't care who's on top (President of the President/Vice President ticket for The Dems) BUT, as a team, they would CLEAN UP!

If these two could work it out before the Primary Voting begins (Obama/Edwards or Edwards/Obama) I believe that both the candidates' supporters and Americans overall would elect a winning team. :patriot:

Yes, both Obama and Edwards shined this evening.

I have to admit that I'm torn between the two of them.

20. Nope
As someone who really likes Obama, I must say, he was mediocore in my book. He did not damage Clinton at all in the beginning, Edwards had the biggest jabs. Towards the end he was better, and did good on the Clinton archives question, but all in all, he is just not good in debate formats, the only one I believe he really won was the one debate when he said that he practiced for the debate in the bumper cars.

26. I agree that debates are not his best format.
His performance in this one was an improvement over his past ones, though. He really needs to work on that if he wins the Primary. (Of course, he'll be competing against Republicans so he'll have a huge advantage nonetheless.)

31. lemme say this
Obama is the guy I wanna hang out with to talk politics, philosophy, current affairs. He's smart, interesting, and he's not an ideologue. He likes to think through things and look at issues outside the partisan box. Thats why I like him and why many liberals don't. He's a philosopher and they want a bomb thrower. Thats why the left loves Edwards and Kucinich and feel Obama is a disapointment. However, he needs to work on his debate skills, and get some soundbites and redmeat material. Clinton is still the master. I'm waiting for him to bring his 2004 nomination speech passion into the debates.

33. K&R He did well toward the end...
After seeing him live, I know he can boom his voice and he was somewhat tempered early in the debate. He really connected in the second part though. I was watching the debate in a University of Wisconsin rathskellar with several other people and I could hear people getting into what he was saying.

The man makes me proud.
