Imagine if Biden had run against Bush instead of Kerry
There would have been no hesitation on his part to slam back against the brutal attacks by the right wing. For that matter, Biden would've taken the offense against Bush himself and pounded the spoiled little brat into submission.

Whoever gets the bid this time, let's just hope they acquire the fiery spirit of Joe Biden somehow. If none of them are capable of that, then we have no other choice but to make sure Biden himself gets the nod so we never get knocked around again by the neocons. I'm sick and tired of us being on the receiving end. Major kudos to Joe Biden for making Democrats just a little bit tougher. Hopefully it will become contagious.

1. It's possible to support Biden and laud his performance without trashing Kerry

3. I couldn't agree more with you... Biden is a very forceful presence...
He has great experience as well.... I truly believe that there were many on that stage last nite that would do a great job as President; ie: Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Edwards and maybe Richardson.

4. That's why Joe is my candidate.
He tells it like it is, I think America needs that for a change.

5. Biden would have exposed Bush as a slug early on and won easy.

Imagine if that happened and Biden was president now..........

8. well, here's the thing:
A personality like Biden's is great for the primaries, where people on the left love a fighter. (I also think he's sincere, smart and very capable--don't misunderstand.) But when it comes to the general you have to win the Indy vote--and they aren't very partisan and I don't believe they like polarizing fights. I don't know that Biden's style as it is would take him all the way to the White House unless he changed it for the General Election.

9. I disagree. I think a personality like his is more necessary for the general election
than it is for the primaries. Compare Biden's personality to Mondale's, Dukakis's, and Kerry's. We got banged around like a red-headed stepchild in each of those instances.
