Fellow Virginians...any predictions for tomorrow?
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 12:04 PM by SaveElmer
I say we gain 6 seats in the Senate and take control...

I predict a pickup of 4 seats in the House of Delegates...and get control back in 2009...

Bonus Predictions: Tom Davis announces he is leaving Congress after his wife gets trounced tomorrow...and Brian Moran will be the next Governor elected in 2009

1. It would be of great assistance to Tim Kaine to have...
at least one house in his corner and to minimize the power in the other.

5. Sounds good to me, but if I had to chose only one, I want Cantor out.

7. Sadly, I too live in Cantor's district. He is an asswipe of monumental
proportions. Getting him out of here is a major dream of mine.

8. I'm cautiously optimistic, but its important to encourage people to vote
Based on the polls, I think its looking pretty good, although I'm worried about the Davis/Peterson race. I think her use of tv advertising has helped her.

The biggest concern is turnout. Turnout in Virginia in "off-off" years (no federal candidates and no governor's race) can be dismal. In years in which the ballot includes presidential candidates, US Senate candidates or a governor's race, statewide turnout ranges from 2 million to 3 million plus voters. In off/off years like this one, its down around a million and change. (Just for example, in 2004, with the presidency on the line, turnout statewide was over 70 percent. A year earlier, in 2003, with no federal candidates or governor's race on the ballot, turnout was barely 30 percent).

If you live in Virginia, make sure you get your friends to vote.
