It's not even close. It leaves too much room for a reverse flip-flop at a later date.

2. Support?
Or vote for? So, basically, you are figuring that everyone who says that is a liar?

5. Support and vote for
There's no room for quibbles in a supposed Democratic leader when he's asked about a potential party nominee.

11. He should have said he'd fully endorse and support
the nominee of the party, although he expected to win that himself. He didn't even have to mention Clinton's name.

19. Edwards was asked if he'd support Hillary ... has any other candidate been
asked, specifically, if they'd support her or any other candidate?

12. Even I would leave that open in case of extreme circumstances.
Suppose that Dennis Kucinich wins the nomination, and the UFO comes back to visit him, and it becomes increasingly obvious that not only was the UFO of extraterrestrial origin, but the account that Shirley MacLaine gave, that of the UFO beaming instructions to his mind to guide him, was true, and they have come back to beam additional instructions to him that are given with the intention of destroying all life on our planet. In that case, I will not vote for Kucinich, even if he is running against Ron Paul.

17. "I fully expect to be the Democratic nominee,”
“I fully expect to support the Democratic nominee, and I fully expect to be the Democratic nominee,” Edwards said Tuesday.

And what if his second expectation is not met; does that change his opinion on the first expecatation? Why doesn't he just do the simple thing, and offer a yes or no?

21. That's true -- it's NOT the same:
No, "I fully expect to support" is what someone with a functioning mind would answer.

25. Someone should ask Edwards to put his response in the form of an affidavit ..
including the words: "I will support Hillary IF she is the nominee."

All in the name of sincerity, of course!

23. When did you stop beating your wife?
Asking if someone will support the nominee is that type of question.
An attempt at gotcha.
It's also a loyalty oath type of question.
Bah!
I don't really care how someone answers this question.

26. I don't really care either
I wouldn't care if he said he would not support Hillary. (Hell, I might even respect him a little bit). But it's a big issue to a lot of people; loyalty oaths are in, if you haven't noticed.

24. sometimes hillary supporters are her worst enemies
yesterday one was trying to smear Robert Parry because he wrote a story that wasn't overwhelmingly in favor of Clinton. I noticed at the same time that same person had a post that misstated what someone else said.

I've never seen a UFO, but apparently there are other well-educated people who have seen unexplainable to them things- including pilots and people in the military. Carl Sagan was no idiot, in fact I'd bet he was smarter than most of the Hillary supporters here, and yet he thought it was extremely likely, considering the billions of GALAXIES, with billions and billons of stars, like the sun is a star, that exist...but of course, it's more important to criticize the ONE democrat who has done the will of the people by pursuing impeachment.

Edwards doesn't say exactly what the Hillary supporters want him to say, so he gets criticized for this.

I hope and pray that Hillary isn't the nominee. I tentatively said I had decided on a candidate, but I really don't have one. All I do know is that I think Hillary would be the worst candidate the democrats could put forward. When I read her supporters here, I don't even want to be part of the democratic party. maybe I'll have to do one last hold-my-nose vote, but if she wins, I think I'll change from dem to independent. maybe I'll just stop voting. what does it matter if there is no real choice.

27. I'm kind of hoping for Biden
and if not him, then Clinton, but I'm also praying...that John Edwards isn't the nominee. I'll vote for him if I have to, because we can't afford another RW Supreme Court appointment, but I'll hold my nose to do it.
