MSNBC says 13 times J. Edwards used the words "corporate power & corporate greed
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 07:43 PM by EV_Ares
Now that the economy & jobs has moved to the #1 position on American's minds with Iraq now #2; this could propel him further up the polls with his populist appeal for the working man & woman. They are all basically even right now.

He has the right message for all concerned & knows how to deliver it.

Trace back any problem we have in America and you'll find some entity---corporate/individuals---enriching themselves from it.

21. Did you hear the NPR piece on
returning Vets from Iraq a couple of weeks ago? So many are having problems finding jobs and the problem is only going to worsen. I think Edwards message goes hand in hand with the situation in Iraq.

Thats why I've been behind him since the beginning. Corporate greed is and should be the #1 issue in the country. It is the reason for the war in the first place.

Richardson chiding his fellow candidates about their supposed divisive tactics. When referring to John Edwards, he said he wanted to start a class war. I thought, thank god someone is even acknowledging there is a class system in the United States!

If we had a non-corporate media that was doing its job, 13 times would seem very low by comparison with them talking about it every day.

Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 08:21 PM by Gloria
Everything else feeds off it...our health, food, war, eveything! Of the major candidates, Edwards is the only one really willing to bluntly state that the system is RIGGED in their favor.....

There would be a cosmic shift in this country if people finally admitted this and embraced this view instead of simply accepting it as the "normal" American way of life....

IMAGINE!!!!

25. My top 3 have always been Kucinich, Obama and Edwards and...
Edwards is looking better to me because he is willing to call it what it is and hes trying to let America know that the game is rigged and the corruption is everywhere. This has been my main reason for supporting Kucinich, he always speaks out about the hush hush important stuff that allot of them don't want to touch because they are most likely a part or too close to the corruption. I just wonder if any of my top 3 are going to drop out of the race, I think with all the decent candidates we have, it will happen as usual and the person the media picks to advertise will probably take it. Now if the race were Clinton against one of the others, she would get blown out of the water, I think too many people are sick of the same old politicians running the country for the elite and weaklthy and completely ignoring the rest of the country.

My prediction is that if Clinton doesn't get the nomination, the election will be stolen and given to the Rs golden boy Giuliani or they wont have elections at all. If Edwards, Obama or Kucinich were the nominee, our country would have a chance at changing directions and that is why I think they will steal it away or not have an election at all. Who knows, lets see what the American people are made of, will we show them we are smart people are dumbed down sheep?

30. Notice he has been ramping up this kind of talk.
It is the truth and has to be said to engage voters who want real change. I wasn't paying much attention a few months ago, but I don't remember him talking about shaking up Washington as much before. I like his timing. The battle will be ferocious after the primaries. I can see him rolling up his sleeves and fighting the Republican machine all the way to the general. Can you imagine the rallying force that will come swelling up behind him? Exciting changes ahead if John wins the primaries.

is why Joe is my 3rd choice (and falling).

I hope a real agent of change for the betterment of the people wins the nomination and not some "I'll form a bi-partisan committee" tool.

44. That he doesn't believe in 3rd trimester abortions unless the mother or baby's health is endanger?
That's exactly how I feel, as well as the majority of Americans.

That he doesn't want public funding of abortions? First of all - that is a winning stand to take in the general election. Second of all - that will all change when his UHC plan is put in place.

btw - what is Edwards stance on abortions? I don't even know.

39. You know, I don't go to other support groups
and I don't judge any candidate by their supporters.

I apologize if you were offended by anything anyone said there, but occasionally people just let off some steam about other candidates. Unlike many posters I've seen, we generally try to keep things civil on the general forums.

Meanwhile, I would say that it is in poor taste to post a link to a Support Group at DU. It may or may not be in violation of the rules, but it certainly isn't constructive.

I like Edwards. I'm still believe Biden is THE BEST HEAD AND SHOULDERS and THE MOST ELECTABLE and HE WINS EVERY DEBATE and his supporters are just a little bit pissed when the media ignores him, claims he has no chance, and fail to bring up his leadership on Iraq.

doesn't mean he's the only one who believes it. I've heard Obama, Biden, and Dodd on numerous occasions talk about combatting the special interests on many occasions. Edwards just works it into every answer he gives. I'm not knocking Edwards... I think he's right. I just think that statement is false.
