Should Democrats register Republican and vote Huckabee?
This guy is such an awful general election candidate that I tend to think his being nominated would seal victory for us. I wonder if any Democrats will seriously play games in this regard- would be fine with me.

2. Absolutely No
It will not make a difference.

Why?

First, many people don't bother voting in the primaries.

Second, Democrats are going to want their candidate to win the primary.

Third, there wouldn't be enough Democrats crossing over to make a difference.

Fourth, if it doesn't work in district elections it won't work on state or national level.

3. No
And I dissagree that he would be a weak general election candidate. Of the whole puke field I think he will be the only one we might have a problem with as he would bring out the fundy vote in droves that will otherwise likely stay home this time or break dem if the ghoul or mittens is their nominee.

4. No. There is always the risk he/she might win the general election.
As Barnum said, no one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American people.

He/she could also be put in through a judicial coup or a stolen election. It's been twelve years since we've had an honest presidential election in this country. And not much has been done to prevent 2008 from being the third stolen presidential election.

5. There are many pro-rapist, pro-corruption, Jesus-rode-a-dinosaur voters out there
especially if they want to have a beer with the candidate.

I think Huckabee is beatable, but I guarantee no Repub is going to get less than 40% of the vote without a 3rd party candidate.

6. My husband and I could do it, if you'd like.
We don't really like any of the Democratic candidates all that much and are having a difficult time figuring out who to vote for.

We do live in a state where it's not necessary to register with a party - one simply declares in which primary they will be voting when they go to vote.

The only problem, however, is that I fear Huckabee could actually win the general election - never underestimate the stupidity of the American public.

7. That's an awesome plan for the Democrats who support any of our candidates running as "moderates"!

8. The whole field of republican candidates are totally loony toons.
Elmer Fudd looks presidential in comparison.

No need to register republican.

11. No
I am sick of dirty politics from anyone, frankly.

We can - and should be able to - win on strength of the issues. True, it is more than an uphill battle because of the media and the general lazy apathy of many American voters, but that does not mean we should ever stoop to their level.

12. NOOOO! Anyone But Huckabee! He Might Win!
I Huckabee wins, the Dominionists get the theocracy they have always wanted.

Possibly crossing over and voting for Ron Paul might throw the Repiggies off their game, but even he is pretty scary. All of the Repiglicons are.
