I would have supported Gore in an instant over Hillary had he decided to run, even though Clark endorsed her. But the fact that there are folks like Clark, RFK JR., George McGovern, and Ambassador Joe Wilson now supporting Clinton helps dispell the distortion vision of Hillary as the second coming of Satan that some seem to want to peddle.

6. Hillary isn't the second coming of Satan.

She's a smart, competent Senator (who should stay in her Senate seat), and other smart people certainly have their own reasons for supporting her.

I, however, don't care for her *as the Democratic nominee*, notwithstanding the opinions of Clark or Joe Wilson or anybody else. That doesn't mean I hate her or that I think she's evil. I just don't want her to be the nominee.

I really don't understand how people who once thought Clark had the judgment and integrity to be president would change what they think about him solely because they have a different opinion of the Clintons. An opinion based on what? Certainly not from knowing them personally.

Whatever rationale Clark has for supporting Hillary's candidacy, I will continue to trust it's a good one.

And speaking of Arkansas connections, it should be noted that the politicians of that state are all signed on for Clinton, just as, the politicians from Illinois have either not declared, or they are for Obama. Of course I would guess that General Clark actually likes Senator Clinton since their friendship goes way back.

What I don't understand is why he has not tried to influence the make-up of her foreign policy team. It's shitfull. Lee Feinstein, her go-to guy, is awful and supports bush's preemptive policy with the qualifier that it doesn't go far enough. Huh? Never mind that Clinton enjoys the advice of Michael PNAC O'Hanlon and Gen. Jack-the-surge Keane.

Anyway, no, General Clark will not be on the ticket. If Clinton is nominated and elected, I can only hope that he stays out of her rat's nest. Bayh, a name at the top of the vp list, will be on teevee this morning and has been Senator Clinton's #1 surrogate this past week. Makes sense to me. Bayh voted for all the horrible bills and resolutions that thrilled Clinton, plus, he is proud member of the DLC. Curiously Bayh is also part of the Intell. Committee currently pushing for telecom immunity. So while certain people on the net post long condemnations of the looming FISA bill, in our upside-down world, they also extol the virtues of the very Dems. who sell us out.

Sorry General...I will continue to put the country first.

41. Long ago in 2004

I was told by a party source that it would be Clinton/Richardson in 2008. While the possibility still exists, watching Richardson on the trail, I wonder if that is still on. And yet, the choice of Bayh would result in the loss of the a senate seat. Both of these men are very entrenched in the DLC group think, supported NAFTA and China Free Trade, and the war. Bayh recently voted against the energy bill too. Richardson even supported Bolton. Fancy that?

Anyone who tells us that they will base their choice on who is best for the country is counting on our collective stupidity.

At this point, since I am determined to stay out of the presidential primary debate, I am focused in working to build an opposition party which means ending the diabolical reign of the DLC. Let them form their own damn party.

I just watched Bayh on CNN talking about the NIE. His bellicosity was absolutely frightening. Kinda a message of startiranwar. Anyone, including General Clark, who thinks that Senator Clinton is listening to the General, is smoking something.

Bayh loves him some more war, and Hillary Clinton loves her some Bayh.

He wanted to. He talked about it when I heard him speak at Stanford over the summer and you could really see the fire in his eyes. He walked the aisles like someone who really wanted the support to run, and I thanked him for all he's done for the country when I shook his hand.

10. I tried, General, I tried.

I still believe Clark is the best person to lead this nation, but I know that is not to be. I have such respect for him that when he endorsed Hillary, I decided to consider her. But indeed I had to pass on her for numerous reasons. Ironically, I've been leaning toward Joe Biden for many of the same reasons that I became interested in Clark in 2004: a straight talker, sincere, knows his stuff.

I'm tired of my vote being taken for granted by people who end up hurting me. The dems have had my vote every single election straight across the ticket since I started to vote in 1984.(I'm 42)

I've just had enough. The dems never miss a chance to miss a chance and if they do it again with Hillary I'm done. If I seem mad its because I love my country and I hate what it has become: one corporate party with 2 wings. I was a Republican until 1992, and since a Democrat. My earlier years I attribute to not being very well educated about politics and the world. I went to college late, in my 30s, and got liberalized there.

Yeah, the two party system totally sucks. We need something like what Germany has with coalitions (everyone receiving 5%) of the vote has a seat and a say. Just my two euro cents.
