Do you believe in the " tipping point" theory?
Caught a talking head on TV this week,
Some guy who has written a book and is making the talk show rounds.
Didn't catch his name.
his point was that If Obama reaches ....let's say 60% in the national polls, wins some early primaries....
Nearly every african-american will then vote for him out of fear of being left behind, left out of the election that brought the first black man to the white house.
At some point it will become almost duty.

He also said the same "tipping point" is there for Hillary with women.

I have been thinking about this ever since.
What do DU'ers think?
I'd like to hear from some african-americans on this.
And women on the Hillary "tipping point"

Do you believe in such a "tipping point"?

1. Sounds reasonable.
But not so much with Hillary because her campaign is in trouble, she doing damage control on the torture and a few other things.

2. i think obama is going to overwhelmingly get the black vote anyway.
and they will turn out for him but still they are still less than 15% of the population.

the hillary effect with women will probably be significantly less in percentage but higher in numbers.

3. Sounds about what goes on from what one reads but then I
pick some one and do not care what others do or say. Course I can not say I vote for the winner all the time unless we talk of Gore and I am lost on that one. The winner did not win in that race.

4. I think most African-Americans will support
whoever has the best chance of wresting the White House away from the rethug/neocons in 2008.
