Take note, major candidates. Only 7% of Democrats wish our troops to stay longer than that.
And 46% of Republicans want the same thing, compared to 41% that disagree.

This is from the Strategic Vision Iowa poll released today, Jan. 2.

1. As usual there are 41% Republicans that support staying there
In our system they rule. The GOP use this as their cover and it works.

It is comparable to national polls which reflect about 30% of Americans
support Bush and his handling the war.

I have long wondered if these people really support the war or
they hang on to prevent what they would perceive as a failed GOP
and its President.

I remember we stood firm with Clinton even though we did not approve
of what he had done.

4. Clinton lied about a personal sex act that wasn't a public matter.
Everyone knew he was railroaded and harassed by a Republican majority who desperately wanted to criminalize something to justify their desire to impeach a Democratic President. Polling clearly showed that the majority of Americans did not support that politically motivated impeachment. This is completely different. Bush lied about the Casus Belli to invade and occupy Iraq. That is grounds for impeachment and possibly justifies a war crimes tribunal at the Hague. A real trial in the Senate should prove that a majority would support an action by Congress to impeach this administration, as the evidence would show that the invasion was planned before 9/11 and the obvious reason was to grab the world's 2nd largest oil reserves.

2. Is this the "David E. Johnson" poll you are quoting?
He seems to be a well established Rep.

Go to the tab "political home"

Look at the pictures of "Our CEO, David E. Johnson".

Then google his name.."David E. Johnson"

Is this not the same man?

5. Yes, my personal view was that Clinton should never
have been impeached. Personal.

However, there are many Democrats who still have a problem with
Clinton because they believe he should have known the GOP was
gunning for him and he gave them the ammunition. They still
stood up for him, wrote letters and made calls to Congress on
his behalf.
