Obama will be the Howard Dean of 2008.
Mark it for later, folks. The MSM did such a fine job of bringing Hillary down to earth and making this a three way race, now it will time to pull back the Iowa momentum. Obama will get tripped up over something and that will make the media take him down a few pegs. This is all so transparent.
Obama is going nowhere. I always thought he would make a good VP. Now, I would prefer someone else.
Oh, before I get tagged as a Hillary lover......I am supporting Edwards.

1. Dean didn't win Iowa
And people have been saying the same thing since the beginning of the race, but it hasn't happened yet.
It wasn't the MSM that brought down Hillary. She did it to herself.

13. So therefore, Obama is NOT the Howard Dean of 2008.
QED.

He should consider that the highest compliment.

7. It's threads like these that have
turned me from a Clinton fan to a democrat actually rooting against her-they just won't stop on their Obama hatred. I suspect racism

8. Well, the pro-Obama threads are turning me off.
Funny thing. I was just thinking about that. I am getting quite resentful of all of the pro-Obama, anti-Edwards and anti-Clinton threads. I really, and I mean REALLY could like him. If I could actually hear his message. But no. I come to DU for a DEMOCRATIC discussion and flow of viewpoints and ideas and what happens? It is a pissing match. My Guy vs. your guy. Let's go negative and trash the other candidate. Well, I have had enough. I will continue to listen to debates and interviews and not listen to the crap that is issued by campaign surrogates and those with blind allegiance.

I wish someone would start some great Mitt Romney threads or some good destruction threads on Huckabee. Wouldn't THAT be much more entertaining?

is that every time anybody says something like what I said it's immediately assumed that it's coming from an Obama supporter-well it's not...

10. spot on, this is his peak, it will be all down hill from here
MSM will rip him apart and his supports will scream racism.
generally
the race card is a huge turn off.
further
name calling to stop genuine and fair criticism of a candidate
is disingenuous and undermines the credibility of both the candidate and the supporter

Clearly, he's inevitable.

14. I was thinking the same thing earlier
One small misstep or a whiff of a scandal (real or imagined) and the media will shred him as quickly as they made him their Darling. The media's only loyalty is to ratings, and bringing down a frontrunner could pay off well for then. Winning IA put a target on his back. He needs to really keep his cool during the upcoming debates or that will be their opening to go after him. (And I wouldn't be surprised if Edwards - the consummate trial lawyer - tries to verbally poke at him for that exact response!)

Why should I bother to read the rest? Dean never won a state he didn't live in. His only win was Vermont on Super Tuesday.

BTW, Irrational bullshit doesn't come from the Hillary people alone. The Edwards people have tons too.

19. For the record I disagree, and the fact that he won Iowa even though
he had not been the national frontrunner seems to say otherwise.

Did anyone hear Dean's joke last night on CNN? Wolf asked him what he thought about the RNC Chairman predicting this would be a good year for Republicans in the White House and Congress and Dean replied "I think they must have legalized something that wasn't legal before."

I love that guy! :spray:

20. It's entirely possible
There were rumors that the Clinton people wanted Obama to win in Iowa in order to knock Edwards out. I wouldn't be surprised to see a media attack on Obama if the Clinton people think Edwards is out after NH.

23. Do the Clinton-bots assume that Edwards' support would flow to them?
I certainly can't speak for Edwards' supporters, but that seems downright crazy to me. I'd guess that if last night was just a two-horse race instead of three, Hillary would have been swamped.

mentioned. Just a "Three way race" with Hillary and Obama in a tight race".... then nothing. CNN did this often. And any type of graphic done to show how the caucus process works, the Clinton name was always very visible..

So it is that the establishment, machine run candidate must now re-create herself...

But days prior I made the call, as well as others that Mrs. Clinton would come in third.
