Edited on Fri Jan-04-08 07:40 PM by rndmprsn
so...someone placed first, and someone placed third, which would imply that someone won second.

NOT if you read the washington post, la times, boston globe or new york times front page, total blackout, NOT ONE FUCKING WORD ABOUT JOHN EDWARDS BEATING HILLARY AND WINNING SECOND DESPITE BEING OUTSPENT LIKE 7 TO ONE AND TAKING PUBLIC FINANCING?!

yeah i know, should have expected it...but still makes me angry, fucking corporate media!

that an anti-corporate candidate hurts the media's bottom line since they are all run by corporate entities.

It's a sad fact, but I feel that his populist message is too much of a threat.

I will continue to support Edwards in his endeavors.

20. Many Edwards fans, (and Kucinich fans) are fond of saying that their
candidate is blacklisted because he is pro-little guy and anti-corporatist so big media conglomerates are "scared" of him. What is the threat they pose to the news editors, reporters, editorialists', anchors, writers, camerapeople, grips, producers, directors, that they would all conspire together and risk being out rated, out watched, and flat outed that they would choose to do this?

7. Did anyone hear Matt Tiabbi on Sam Sedar today? He explained the whole
thing about Edwards.

The media doesn't like him...or Hillary.

He is too angry and she is too "Nixonian"/arrogant (towards the press).

They are very venal and lazy people (my words) - the press - and they only like candidates who amuse them and have happy, positive attitudes -that's why they hated Howard Dean, too. Edwards is this years Howard Dean (angry man, hatin' corporations, etc.) and the simple minded press doesn't LIKE those kind of candidates.

14. Yeah, But Here's The Kicker... The Media Is NOW Saying The "Change"
that Obama represents is Anti-Washington, anti-corporations, anti-lobbyist... all the things that Edwards has been campaigning about forever. It's EDWARDS who's fighting back against them, and yet somehow Obama is the one who is ACTUALLY doing it! I just heard Jack Cafferty say almost the very same thing a little while ago. AND Jeffrey Toobin basically said Edwards isn't going anywhere, he's been running for president for 10 years!!

Getting THIS kind of coverage WILL put the cabash on anyone's campaign!! And David Schuster, Chuck Todd And David Gregory ALL said that the D.C. Elites hate Edwards and they just won't let him win! Apparently there is a "group" and it was alluded to also, that has lots of power over what will or won't get done!

Obama apparently is on the inside here, and I don't like it one bit! But Clinton is too... she just didn't live up to expectations right now... STILL whose names are we hearing? The VERY same ones!

Obama has taken plenty of money from Commercial banks, Health professional, Hedge Funds, Insurance companies, Law Firms, etc. I have a topic ID# of a thread that was posted earlier that has a breakdown of this, but I have no idea HOW to pull it up. I see links inside threads all the time, but I don't know how you find them.

Anyway, it stinks to high heaven because I know so many people are supporting John Edwards. Most of the time we have a poll here, he's the one who comes out on top. Also at Dailykos... so it's the POWERS THAT BE who are pushing this!

8. Its a non-story, because he was expected to lose.
Despite spending the last 6 years basically living and campaigning in there.

Clinton was EXPECTED to win, thus losing is a story.

Obama was EXPECTED to lose and thus winning is a story.

Edwards being in second after having name recognition and focusing on Iowa isn't a story.

11. I disagree.
It is obvious to me this is a blatant shun. You can almost read the lines the reporters are told to use when they do barely mention Edwards' name, it's always the same crap trying to paint him in a bad way.

13. Why shun him? He is a distant third in the race.
And if he is being painted in a bad way, it is because of his own duplicity.

News stories are about the UNEXPECTED or the UNUSUAL. A candidate with no real chance of winning the nomination not winning a state he was expected to not win isn't a story.

9. So it's time to jam their phone lines & e-mail boxes.
Bitching about it to one another helps us let off steam & is a little comforting. But it is the editors of those newspapers, and news directors of the cable news networks that we need to make sure are NOT feeling any comfort.

We need to let them all know in no uncertain terms that we are outraged.

10. It truly sucks!
Even NPR does the same thing. They are all owned by the same corporate pigs who control what we sheep are allowed to hear. A funneling of thought, opinion, information and ultimately votes. I hope it is blatently obvious to people of New Hampshire.

18. I heard him mentioned once, and it was even worse than the no-mention.
Someone in the MSM (don't remember who or what station) basically called Edwards a loser, saying that he spent all year campaigning in Iowa and he didn't win it, all he could get was second. Yup, that's what the person said.

In a 20 minute analysis of the Iowa Caucus, Moyers did NOT mention Edwards name....NOT ONCE!
