Poor Elizabeth Edwards on Hardball tonight!
The poor woman was obviously so sleep deprived she was stuttering in her responses to Tweety's inanity. Even so, she was utterly fantastic in getting across her point that the press don't respect John's earnest pleas on behalf of working people in this country. Tweety was just plain mean about trial lawyers, like they were some vermin that needed to be exterminated, and she pointed out that John went into that area of law to help people defend themselves against well funded corporations who are guilty of bad things and can defend themselves with tons of money.

Elizabeth was great. She tried to point out how the media haven't covered John's campaign with enough attention to his message. Her disappointment was clear. She looked exhausted, but beautiful. It seemed to take a lot out of her. I hope she gets the rest she needs and deserves!

1. Elizabeth always has that slight hesitation to her speech. She was not "sleep deprived"
She herself said she normally doesn't sleep much. She blogs all night! Elizabeth was just Elizabeth and she was great!

2. Well, I am relieved to hear that. She sounded so stuttery I just assumed she
had lost sleep. I am worried about her physical condition so that gave me extra concerns.

I agree that she was great, don't get me wrong! I just felt bad for her if she was so tired she couldn't speak as well as usual and it was because of such a grueling time in the last gasp of the campaign.

Hope John's message will resonate in New Hampshire and I hope for Elizabeth to rest!

3. Matthews was machine gunning her with one inane
question after another. Especially when he said why they don't cover John as much because he's not "historic" like First Black or First Woman blah, blah, blah. He's such a dolt like that.

Is the video up yet? If not, I'll go look for it.....

6. Tweety is also a barometer - watch him and you can know for sure

who the Republicans want and are fearful of.

Clinton - want - for hate and tired old scandal fodder. She can handle it.

Obama - want - for what they will say is deficient experience (while they love the experience of the Mayor and Governors). Senators don't count, except for Fred. They will use Obama's Moslem 1/2 parent heritage for hate - some subtle, some unbearably inhuman. He can handle it.

Edwards - they definitely don't want him. He is way too sharp for them and he won't laugh and joke with them about trite stuff and lies and inhuman like accusations. He would handle it the best.

Richardson - nearly the same as Edwards?

9. Huh? He hates Hillary
Not sure he's ever said anything good about her.
I think he ignores Edwards for the most part because he focuses on bashing Hillary.

12. He has two irons in the fire - he hates her, but he is a Republican operative
for a Republican corporation who partners with the WH and RNC to do bidding of the WH and RNC - the WH and RNC wants Hillary - he wears two hats - and one has the baramoter sticking out of it.

His hate generates and reaffirms hate. He is joined in hate by lemmings.

Pretend or real hate - it all comes together.

11. Tweets tries too hard to be funny
...and he's just not Keith. Or even a good smarmy snarkass like Morning Joe, who's done great interviews with John and Elizabeth.

21. I didn't mean to make her sound pitiful. I just felt bad for her because campaigning has to be
draining on her. And Tweets was just trying tohammer her with nonsense. I felt like yelling at the TV "give her a chance to answer!"

I know she's smart and articulate....I was just being kinda protective of her and I know she doesn't need me to do that. It's just my nature I guess...

I love matthews, but also love Clinton and Edwards. It hurts so much watching his show lately because he hates her so much. HOWEVER, I LOVED this interview. Mrs Edwards comes off so smart and sharp. Edwards would make a good president, I just wish the news would pay attention to him :(

cuz without the press, younger people like myself don't get to know much about him. None of my peers really know heads or tails about Edwards. I'm the only one. The rest love Clinton mostly, and then some for Obama.

19. She was FANASTIC. Edwards IS A GREAT candidate and she is LOVELY...
...she has a beautiful face and smile. And she's gracious, outspoken, and intelligent - and straightforward.

Now, Tweetie...I'd like to smack his face. Little turd.

20. His program comes about the same time as the local news
but once they moves to sports, I switched off. Really did not feel like hearing Matthews asking a question of his guests and then shouting them down so I went to PBS, to Jim Leher, instead. What a civilized presentation. Yes, they were talking about the primaries but each was given enough time to talk. I really need to visit him more often.
