Neocon William Kristol gives the 'thumbs up' to Obama
I kid you not - but considering how pro-corporate Obama is, it makes sense:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/weeklystandard/20080105/cm_weeklystandard/thankyouiowa

Thank You, Iowa

(snip)

And what of Barack Obama? He beat Hillary Clinton. He won in a state with a very small minority population. He ran (if one can put it this way) a pretty much color-blind campaign, and Iowa Democrats seem to have rendered a pretty much color-blind verdict. And a calm one. Angry Democrats who wanted a candidate who shared their rage had such a fellow in John Edwards. But after practically decamping to Iowa for the past four years, Edwards came in a distant second. Meanwhile, Democratic women rejected the faux-feminism of Hillary Clinton and preferred Obama. Younger women did so overwhelmingly.

In sum, Iowans turned out in huge numbers to pick the classiest candidate on the Democratic side, and an appealing underdog on the Republican. It's fashionable to look down on the Iowa caucuses. That's wrong. Last week, Iowans rose to the occasion. It was a good week for them, and for the country.

William Kristol

16. It's the Bigotry Hardwiring of these smallminded windbags who're dominated by their reptilian brain
They make false assumptions about Obama being easy to beat because they are living in the 50's and banking on the southern strategy.

5. Bill's been hot for Obama for quite some time. Funny how not many are suspicious of this behavior..
Hillary's the more hawkish candidate in the bunch and Freepers do NOT support people they view as dove's.

But, let's party!! Another Republican on our side...

Woohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

9. Not at all - rethugs see Obama as easy to win against. They used
to be pusing Hillary as the dem candidate cause they knew she was hated and repugs wouldn't cross to vote for her...but they see Obama as an even easier win.
How many afro-americans are in the republican side of Congress? How many times did Bush and company visit black caucuses or the NAACP etc. Get the picture?

10. The GOP sees Obama as someone who won't upset the K-Street apple cart
Therefore, he's not completely threatening to them.

13. Yikes. It is like in the mafia, when the boss kisses someone.

That means they are marked for death. :sarcasm:

In all seriousness, that should be a red flag to all liberals that Obama does not stand for change.
Kristol is a hard-core war-mongering neocon who would never endorse a liberal who represents change.
That is not in Kristol's or the neocons' interest. Beware of supporting Obama unless Obama starts showing us something different and telling us who he really is and what he plans to do.

17. What bullshit. Kristol lives in the past and thinks America won't vote for a black man.
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 05:14 PM by cryingshame
That is why he would do that, if there's some nefarious attempt to sway the public toward a Democrat he falsely believes would be easy to beat.

He's too stupid to recognize the changes American electorate has gone through. How the Southern strategy is breaking down.

15. Look at how that racist clown is kissing the ass of a black man.
And you KNOW he's racist. But he is SO afraid about being called on it.

I'm telling ya...Obama being black is really going to work well for him in the GE.

18. Yup, and as I say upthread- there's also the false assumption amongst Neocons that their bigotry
is still shared by the majority of Americans.

These assholes are 60 years behind the times in their appraisal of where the American electorate stands and how we deal with "minorities" and gays.

And yeah, the ghost of Katrina.
