Funny how the top three candidates literally embody the
issues which have been used to manipulate the American people all these years. Obama and race; Hillary and gender; and Edwards and class.

The only way and I mean the only way that you can deal with this kind of manipulation is to put it on the table, speak strongly to it and go from there. However, you cannot let it define you. In my book, Bill Clinton handle this stuff better than anyone. Whoever gets the nomination better have Bill's cell phone on speed dial.

The Repugs are going to be vicious critters this time around because they are backed in a corner.

I am getting on up there in years, a lifelong Southerner, and Southern politicians are absolute magicians at manipulating people along these lines. That's the reason, I think, Clinton was so effective in dealing with this stuff. He had grown up in the milieu and knew how to handle it.

As we all know, what has happened to the Republican Party since Reagan has been its takeover by the old Dixiecrats, a point well-known and established.

I will support whomever is nominated but our side better get ready. We know what is coming.

2. Edwards doesn't represent class, he represents Southern Charm (TM)
Class has not been used in politics since the thirties

4. Edwards is a populist speaking for the working Americans
rather than corporations. He preaches against the two Americas with 2 different educations and potentials based on differences in in come ie class.

6. The Two Americas? Corporate greed?
I'm voting for Edwards because he's exposing the dirty truth about this country, not because he's from the South.

They drop a flamebait thread and then don't answer answer any of the replies?

Possible political operatives or freepers?

5. No flamebait here. Was a Biden supporter and made
a financial contribution to his campaign because I thought he was the best person running. I have been on DU for years and have made contributions in the past. I just don't post very much. However, if you don't believe this is coming down the pike, just watch and see. And by Edward's "class", I am talking about his populist appeal and willingness to take on the financial structures.
