ABC News "Dishes Dirt" on Hillary and Edwards online in advance of New Hampshire
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 01:47 PM by McCamy Taylor
Go to the ABC Webite here:

http://abcnews.go.com/

Go to the Watch Video box in the upper right hand corner and click on the "Dishing Dirt on the Campaign Trail" link.

You will be told that Hillary is a Bitch because some anonymous person made calls in Iowa in which they maligned Edwards and Obama (and it must have been Hillary, it could not have been someone else hoping to make people think that it was Hillary).

You will also be told that a tabloid claims that Edwards has a love child.

Congrats to ABC News to being the first to actually stoop to Swiftboat Vets style journalism this campaign season. We all know how much the corporate media hates and fears a John Edwards presidency, but still....

1. ABC is the network that aired the hit piece about Bin Laden against
Clinton. They are shill for Bush and the neo-cons.

3. When did the presidential race turn into a piss poor form of American Idol?
ABC is scared shitless of Edwards, so we can expect them to diss him. We'll see some real bullshit maneuvers tonight.

6. They put that garbage on TV last night
They said that Hillary was likely to be behind the calls because she wasn't smeared. There are lots of other possible explanations.

ABC hates the Clintons and has a long history of telling lies about them. They are as bad as Fox.

7. Disgusting but par for the course for ABC
I'm as sick of this type of anti-Hillary BS as I am of the mass ignoring of Edwards, and the sure to increase smears if he continues to do well ("love child " will be small potatoes compared to what he'll be in for). I'm an Edwards supporter all the way; Hillary is my LEAST favorite Dem, but I want her beaten on the issues, not on junior high level BS , such as this or the "she's a cold fish according to reporters" crap..."

8. It's ABC. Not surprising really.
I refuse to click the link, but do have a question - do they dish dirt on any other candidates, or just Clinton and Edwards?

10. So if it is this easy to get a national media organization to accuse a Dem of dirty tricks...
...with no supporting evidence whatsoever other than "who stands to benefit most from such behavior", any opponent of a Democrat can arrange for a few "dirty trick" phone calls to be made that seemingly hurt themselves and then make sure that someone reports those calls to the media. Let's look at the possible trade off; possibly losing a few dozen votes because of 100 mailicious phone calls vs. getting the national host of the critical New Hampshire Deocratic debate to publically accuse one of the candiadte participants of underhanded tactics (but not themselves of course).

Based on that sound reasoning it seems that the Clinton campaign by far had the most to lose by arranging those anonymous calls, right? I mean there's no evidence whatsoever, so all we can do is use logic to judge the guilty party or parties. Who benefits the most by having Clinton nationally accused of dirty tricks on the day of an all important debate because of some reported anonymous phone calls?

It so much more easier to pin down the accused without having to bother with evidence.

12. That whole Edwards love child thing is beyond ridiculous
If it was true because it was printed in a tabloid, then are all those tabloid stories about Bush bangin' Condi in WH closets true too?

15. Ugh
I don't think the Republicans necessarily fear any of our candidates- definitely not before knowing which one they will have.

But, I am thoroughly disgusted by when it looks like our own candidates are quite likely going to be some pretty running dirty campaigns here.
