ARG: Obama Leads Hillary By 12 Points In NH
By Eric Kleefeld - January 5, 2008, 3:56PM

The new American Research Group poll gives Barack Obama a 12-point lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. Here are the numbers, compared to their last pre-Iowa tracking poll:

Obama 38% (+7)
Clinton 26% (-9)
Edwards 20% (+5)

Like today's Rasmussen poll, which shows similar numbers, this poll was conducted entirely after the Iowa Caucus results were known. The margin of error is ±4%, giving Obama a lead outside the margin.

10. And I'm skeptical of all polls! But since they're out there, they will
be posted. And AFAIK, that's all we have to go by for now except opinions.

14. Me too. ARG was totally out of wack in Iowa.
I believe that there is a major local newspaper poll coming out at 5 which is supposed to be pretty reliable. We'll see

21. Sure they don't
I bet you couldn't find a single person in NH planning on voting in the primary who didn't know the results from Iowa, at least the top 3 finishers in both parties. 'Cause you know, they don't care what happens there.

puh-leeze.

9. Leading one to wonder if New Hampshire
has made itself redundant and pointless by putting its primary so close to Iowa's.

18. Not at all.
But if NH is totally reflective of Iowa, why bother with NH? You can't prove it by one election, but if it happens that way again?

Your candidate is a snowball rolling downhill now. It's an act of blasphemy to stop him, messiah that some here are claiming him to be. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the snowball rolled into the White House.

But I don't vote for messiahs. And I don't vote for cults.

12. NH is a bit more easier to poll than Iowa
So I'll give ARG a bit more of a pass in NH. Iowa is notoriously difficult to poll, in their defense. NH isn't that hard, so it's hard to screw that one up.

13. Both ARG and Rasmussen showing about the same.
I think that's all she wrote, folks. If nothing changes, and Obama wins NH- I think he'll be our nominee.

HRC can not afford to lose NH.

16. If Edwards catches up to Hillary, it's going to start looking like a two-candidate race.
Admittedly, Obama will have a huge head start, but who knows how the former Hillary voters will break?
