3. No, it gives one possible explanation, but not the only one
And no one mentioned "aliens".

The explanation given was based on personal belief, not on analytical inferences.

6. Police aren't there at the commission of a crime, either.
They gather all of the evidence they can (which includes, but is not limited to, eyewitness testimony), and then come to the best possible conclusion based on the evidence.

For you to say that we cannot come to a conclusion when we were not there is a complete logical fallacy.

And just to stop a possible straw man, I am NOT saying that Kucinich seeing a UFO is equivalent to a crime.

7. Were you there? Have you talked to all the witnesses? Did the writer talk to all the witnesses?
No, they're jumping to a preferred belief based on their personal opinions. It's not an intellectual judgment,
it's a rash assessment imo.

>For you to say that we cannot come to a conclusion when we were not there is a complete logical fallacy.

That isn't what I said. You can come to whatever conclusion you wish. I come to the conclusion that I can't.
It's our difference of opinion over who is the more "correct" that is in question.

Sorry, I don't believe in anything -- including the omniscient ability for one prejudiced viewer to know absolutely
what someone else has seen without a lot more collection of evidence.

Incidentally, I go with a multi-model answer to all such questions. The most likely explanation is the physical one.
But every so often, hoofbeats signal zebra and we should keep that in mind.

8. The writer is using the available evidence.
Although the early development of unmanned craft is not easy for outsiders to trace, these devices do have a long history. Marilyn Monroe, in the days before she had that name, once worked for a company producing the first mass-produced UAVs.

The Kucinich sighting took place in Graham, Washington, situated directly between Mount Ranier and McChord Air Force Base. (The mountain is some twenty miles away from the base.) The report indicates that the craft were flying toward McChord. After the flyover, Kucinich's party saw military helicopters in the area.

He is not making a conjecture based on anything other than the available evidence.

The simplest explanation is often the correct one.

9. He is making a conjecture based on his assessment of the available evidence
It's always a prejudiced perspective, in other words.

The simplest explanation is often the correct one. Often, not always.

At that, have the last word and let's end this thread.

13. if the govt has that kind of stuff, they'd never had to have Iraq War,
they could've snatched Sadaam and whoever they want away with stuff like that ,which would mean the whole war would be just a put-on to shovel a $trillion more to the military-industrial elite, etc.,hey wait a minute.....

12. Wouldn't surprise me. People out near Area 51 see all sorts of stuff
most of it is classified, experimental military aircraft, which a lot of people mistake for aliens/UFOs.

14. And yet he kept it to himself and Shirley MacLaine.
He should have known not to tell any civilians, and to report to the government that their experimental aircraft flew where it could be seen, so that they could avoid more sightings.
