13. True. And there was this Jennifer Flowers skirt chase that Bill was accused of....
So when Mr Chaste won second in NH he called himself the Comeback Kid.

He came back to 2nd. And he is the one who named himself that, btw.

Anyhow, Clinton basically ignored Iowa...was this up and coming rock star who was facing this woman who he demeaned as a bimbo in order to save face....and he didn't sink as expected.

8. it's one way of discreetly saying
well, Hillary won't do the same, so it really doesn't count. I have every reason to believe that January will be good for Obama -- it already is! -- and February will be good for Hillary and we may not know the Official Nominee until March.

10. For one thing, the primary season wasn't quite as compacted as it is now.
There was more time between primaries to campaign.

11. Harken favorite son was running, so Clinton did not run in Iowa
Lots of people have won in those states and did not get nomination.

When Regan ran the first time he lost 6or 7 states.

14. Reagan ran the first time in 1976
He lost a lot more than that, apparently.

3. Bill Clinton. Remember? New Hampshire made him the comeback kid, because of a strong showing.

5. Okay ... I was thinking he'd won it, not just made a strong enough showing.
It's all hazy. I was in grad school then ... :)

4. Bill Clinton
but that was after he fell nearly twenty points in one week in the NH Polls after losing Iowa and having the Gennifer Flowers scandal break. Everyone -- and I mean EVERYONE -- counted him out and told him to throw in the towel but, after losing three more States (five states lost total), he finally won Georgia and then locked up the Nomination on or slightly after Super Tuesday.

The race is far from over and I expect both Edwards and Hillary will stay in long after Super Tuesday.
