. . .twice?
So this is the Black face that some folks on DU are throwing out to attack Obama? (I love it when white folks post quotes from Blacks to take down other Blacks because, as in the case here, it makes them look down right foolish). Some MF's on DU were so anxious to take down Obama with a Black voice that they didn't even vet the guy. LOL You guys are so GOD DAMNED PATHETIC!!! LOL
Why I Am Supporting George W. Bush...Again "I was convinced by Bush and stepped forward to support a Republican for the presidency of the United States, for the first time in my life."Four years ago, I had a very hard decision to make. As president and CEO of the largest Black business association in the world, I had to publicly and personally support a candidate for president of the United States. After sending out a "Request for Leadership" form to each presidential candidate asking why an African American entrepreneur should support his or her candidacy, Bill Bradley, Steve Forbes, John McCain and George W. Bush provided strong arguments, while Al Gore made it pretty simple-he sent nothing. That, plus my observance of his laissez-faire attitude towards African Americans, made it clear to me that Mr. Gore should not gain my support.
Under the Clinton/Gore administrations, small business, particularly minority businesses and most significantly Black-owned businesses, suffered miserably. Fortune 1000 corporations doing business with the federal government were let "off-the-hook" in terms of small business subcontracting. Bundling of contracts for the mega-businesses became the charge of Al Gore. The 8(a) contracting activity, the federal government's key indicator of minority business, decreased by $1 billion a year, and Black-owned businesses were the biggest losers. The Small and Disadvantaged Business program (SDB) was expunged from the Department of Defense-a devastating loss!
No way would I support Gore. The other candidates explained their plans well, but with George W. Bush, I saw that besides his sincerity, he actually understood business-small business, in fact. He explained his game plan and put timelines with it. I was convinced by Bush and stepped forward to support a Republican for the presidency of the United States, for the first time in my life.
