1. Edwards had a caucus-eve conversion
but I'm a little leery of relying on conversation on a bus. Has he reiterated it or expanded on it since then?

2. Edwards has consistently been changing his message on Iraq.
I don't know why he would stop now.

8. How so?
I haven't followed his speeches, just his written policies.

3. None of them want permanent bases. Here's the links.
Obama:
"Q. What would you do with the huge embassy that we've built?

A. Well, that raises a whole other set of questions.

Q. And the (military) bases.

A. I've been very clear we should not have permanent bases in Iraq."

Edwards:
"Today's report that the Bush Administration is planning to establish permanent military bases in Iraq on the basis of an utterly misguided analogy to the Korean Peninsula is more evidence that the Administration has completely lost touch with reality on the ground."

Clinton:
"To be clear, attempts to establish permanent bases in Iraq would damage U.S. interests in Iraq and the broader region, and I will continue to strongly oppose such efforts."

5. I think it has
been consistent since Kerry to get rid of those internal permanent bases. Only Clinton looks suspicious concerning when and if. The involvement in our mess there while stepping out has ALL candidates explaining a lot, even DK. The real range of withdrawal and disengagement has to do with continuing US policy, leaving a vacuum or drawing in the other nations and retain a US and world policy in the region.

The vague stuff around how to stop the killing and what all our interests are and will continue to be and can't help looking like melting fudge- thanks to Bush.
