I hate to say it - I have no desire to support any dem candidate at this time

Oddly enough, by 4 years ago I was deep into the Howard Dean campaign and had already donated a chunk of change & time to help get him nominated.

I half-heartedly supported Biden. I use the word 'half-heartedly' because I really never made any serious contribution other than promoting him here and a small donation to his campaign.

Now don't get my lack of effort as a lack of desire to see a democrat elected in 2008. I just think that every candidate (major or not) still in this election pretty much has equal potential for me. All of them are flawed (yes, even Kucinich) but all of them will receive my full support and a nice donation once their nomination is decided.

I agree with you about this year. It's very hard to get excited about anybody.

But, OTOH, the last time I felt this was about a race was 1992, so maybe that's a good sign?

I could get excited by any of the 3 if they get the nomination.

But when I read where these candidates are spending something like $100-$200 per vote in Iowa and/or NH, I'm thinking, why waste my money now? They have enough money to get through this nomination, I'd rather spend my money in the main election where it could actually do some real good.

It's not that I don't want to vote for any of these candidates, I just feel any time and/or financial contributions at this stage in the game would be a waste of time. Delaware is not a deciding factor in the nomination process and all of these main 3 candidates are loaded to the gills with cash.

Why waste these resources now when after the elections I could use these things to make a difference in 2008.

Who knows, maybe his kid Beau will run for president one day. He's already been elected AG of Delaware and I could see him taking over Dad's seat one day. Of course first Beau will need to get home from Iraq in one piece - he's due to ship out in the spring.

12. I think we are in an enviable position this year.

All of our candidates are well qualified, and yes, even articulate. It will be nice to have a president that can string a full sentence together and not be an embarrassment to the country. All of them seem to have a view of the future and don't dream of being the next "reagan".

14. I, too, was deeply involved in the Dean campaign

four years ago. And I, too, am not crazy about any of the current candidates. I suspect that may be true of many of the former Deaniacs. We worked out hearts out, and then saw our guy unfairly humiliated, and even though we probably all wound up voting for Kerry, I don't think we've completely gotten over it.

And no, I don't long for Gore to enter the race.
