Experience: a thought experiment. Just suppose that Obama wins
and goes on to become a very popular, very successful two term President. How qualified would Michelle Obama be as a Presidential candidate in 2016?

1. Good question. Is she going to be elected to the Senate in the meantime?

2. ridiculous. Hillary Clinton has been
a U.S. Senator for 7 years. When and if Michelle gets that kind of experience, it'll be worth speculating about.

3. Depends on what she does as First Lady
and probably getting some legislative experience under belt wouldn't hurt, in that event --maybe she would be ready for a run by 2024.

6. I thought this was a useful thought experiment ...
From a discussion post on a Bob Shrum article (found here: http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/2008/01/07/2008-01-07_sen_clintons_massive_mistake__and_the_fi.html)

ThePhantom Jan 7, 2008 7:10:13 AM Report Offensive Post
I saw the following piece on the Internet recently - it makes some very valid points: Quarterback for the Packers... In a news conference Deanna Favre announced she will be the starting QB for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB for the Packers. During this period of time she became familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now completely comfortable with other terminology of the Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that 50% of those polled supported the move. Does this sounds idiotic and unbelievable to you? Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she is qualified to be President and 50% of Democrats polled agreed. She has never run a City, County, or State. When told Hillary Clinton has experience because she has 8 years in the white house, **** Morris stated "so has the pastry chef".

7. The pastry chef doesn't have seven years in the Senate.

9. omg. you thought something that fucking stupid was
thoughtful??? Yikes. Do you know what critical thinking is? Dickhead Morris using the pastry chef thing is sooo pathetic. Clinton spent 8 years as one of her husband's top domestic advisors, represented the U.S. scores of time abroad- and not just as a figure head, and headed a major policy initiative.

8. I don't know and neither do you.
I don't know who Michelle Obama is or what her involvement in the administration might be.

10. Unless Michelle is planning a Senate Run
in the near future, i'd say she's not at all qualified. I'm not a Hillary fan, but at least she has the resume. Yes.. she plays the "I was married to the President" for 8 years of her "experience" but she has additional titles to throw on top of that.

Would I vote for Michelle if she was running in my state? Totally depends on her platform.. but with 2 little girls to raise, and the fact that she quit a high paying job at a Chicago Hospital so she could have more time to raise them while Obama runs.. i don't see her running for any office anytime soon.

If Obama is President until 2016.. she gets a Senate bid in 2020.. maybe i'll vote for her in 2028! First Black Women President.. whoo hoo! ;)
