Apparently the Clintons are calling in favors and going after super-delegates to try to get to a brokered convention, where the odds would be more in their favor. Sounds likely to me, but we'll see I guess.

2. There's only one person who would benefit from a brokered convention.

3. Al Gore would probably try to help sort the mess out, but he is not
going to be our next president. The man is a global statesman now.

12. Yeah, and that's one thing American presidents haven't been as of late.

13. Who do you think would emerge as President in a brokered convention then?
With so much bitter division between the Hillary and Obama camps, I don't see either of them accepting the other candidate. And while an Obama - Edwards deal is possible, that alliance would probably piss the Hillbots off even more. Depending on how large their piece of the pie is, they could have enough to maintain the gridlock.

Only reasonable solution then would be that none of the three are nominated, and instead, a candidate who can unite the party comes forward. Who would be up to that job, other than Al Gore?

4. Chris Matthews has been hoping for a brokered convention in both
Parties for months! He reacted to the idea like a kid reacts to a stadium sized candy store.

5. I really think he was only speculating what may be happening
I think he's right about that, but he didn't say it was "fact".

7. If Obama wins in the primaries and brings new people with them the pols will go where the votes are
meaning Obama especially if they sense he is bringing new people in and will do well with independents.

8. Conventions gonna be a knife-fight, with Edwards holding the kingmaker cards
Oops, mixed metaphor. ;)

Still, I predict the convention will be hella fun to watch.

9. Ed is not exactly an unbiased source.
He threw a tantrum recently because Hillary wouldn't come on his show.

10. Good luck with that.
Last I checked, it's pretty hard to win a brokered convention if you've lost every primary.

11. Good lord a mercy....we still have 49 states to go
NO-------------PERSON-----------WHO---------HAS-------WON----THE IOWA AND NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARIES since they started the primary selection in 1952 except bush ( and we know why that happened) has gone on to win the nomination. So what in the hell are the Obama crapping in their pants over. They are so damn scared that Hillary Clinton is going to win they are taking nerve pills like crazy. No way in hell Obama is going to take any of the big states and there won't be enough left over because he won't win the southern states.....he won't win the real mid-western states. So tell me what's left.

I thought Kerry won both in 2004.

15. There will be no brokered convention
If Obama wins New Hampshire and South Carolina, he will sweep the Super Tuesday states, except for maybe New York. Think 2004 and its condensed primary calendar and you have a very clear picture of what will happen this year.
