3. I usually back Dean anyway (and have since 2003)
It's the Clintonista DLC who wanted to front-load the primaries so they could buy the nomination. They are the ones who got Michigan and Florida kicked out. And Hillary doesn't get free delegates because she's the only one on the ballot.

4. Whoever the nominee is, they will seat the delegates
at that point in the process the DNC Chair is superfluous.

Now...if we have a brokered convention....(but I'm betting Feb. 5th takes care of that idea as well)

6. I bet she will.
And, if I was Dean, I'd tell her to get lost. If you can win outright---then, cheat? Is that the mantra, now?

9. Dean
We should support him on this.WIth Obama and Edwards not even on the ballot In Michigan that should
not even be considered a race. Here In Missouri we don't vote till Febirary 5 Florida could do the
same.

10. Same in GA...
and, yes...FL and MI voted for the rules, and then broke the rules, and don't want to pay the consequences (that they knew about when they broke the rules).

Screw 'em. It's their own damned fault.

12. Florida Rules
From a Republican Legislature and Governor. But the Republicans only lose half their delegates.

18. And republicans have to deal with something like 6 states breaking their rules
and moving up early. This is a strict penalty, but they knew what they were getting in to. There was only 1 vote in the legislature against the bill moving up the primary. The rules florida signed allowed for the possibility of being forced, and required that the democrats put up some kind of resistance. But they did not, they carelessly voted with the republicans to break DNC rules. They get what they deserve.

7. It's not up to Dean
I wish people would understand that it's the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the DNC that makes these rules. Not the Chairman. Dean isn't even at the meetings. And it will be the convention as a whole that actually decides if these delegations will be seated based on recommendations from the Credentials Committee.

Now, that being said, I think the nominee will want those delegations seated regardless of who that nominee is. It'll be for unity.

16. Of course, that's why Carville wanted Dean out and Ford in.
He knew Ford would seat their delegates in order to please Hillary Clinton.

17. A reminder...Florida was in on it with the GOP from early 2006
So there should be no sympathy for them. I feel for the people who are still not aware just how the state leaders screwed them.

Details on how Florida worked with the GOP to set the early primary date.

5.Florida House Democratic Leader Dan Gelber stated, after offering an amendment to move the primary to February 5th, that the only reason he offer it was “to show that there was an attempt to state within the Democratic Party rules.” The amendment failed on a voice vote with no debate being offered.

7.Florida Senate Democratic Leader Steve Geller stated on the Senate floor that he was offering an amendment to move the primary to February 5 only because he was threatened by DNC Chair Howard Dean. Sen. Geller than mocked his own amendment which failed on a voice vote without any debate.

24. That would be like the Supreme Court handing Dubya the presidency
It would be the ultimate example of the insiders leverging their influence to change the rules of the game. If they did that, the Democratic Party would go bonkers.
