AK ATTACKS!!!
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 04:07 PM by AtomicKitten
I thought I would get that sure to come accusation out of the way and simply state that I have something to say and will do so in a noninflammatory way although that will be construed as hating ... sigh.

I am not impressed with Hillary's tender moment today, and here's why:

It never seems to occur to the Clintons to be honest the first go. Hell, I'd be okay with honesty on the second go. But only now with her pants around her ankles does she try being honest.

I would give her a standing ovation for that but that's the very least I expect in my government.

And when my son and I saw this tender moment played across the airwaves today, he turned to me and said, "Somebody get her an Oscar."

* Edited to say that I have no clue whether or not she is telling the truth, and that's the problem. Exactly.

We have had a two-decade bullshit extravaganza going on in this country. Secrecy. Lies. No accountability. I am so over the Clintons. I thank them for their service to this country, but I simply cannot abide more of the same.

I am for turning the page.

May the best man win.

I think she is realizing that she can lose and I feel bad for her, but it's time for change and she's not willing to take the tiller and move it an inch away from the present course when it comes to this immoral war, and the corporate noose that's tightened around our country. She has some serious soul searching to do.

18. I agree the moment appeared orchestrated for sympathy. But this doesn't change my view...
of who will be able to take on the responsibilities of the presidency on 1/20/09. It's not going to change the fact that Obama has not sufficiently presented where he stand on issues and what he will do consistently.

We could go all day about who appears more sincere, honest, likeable...we could parse all the words and facial expressions. For example, I thought in Obama's interview where he addressed his comment in the Saturday night debate "I like you...enough" (to HRC)he came across as snotty and above-it-all. He knows exactly how the phrasing came across as a disdainful swipe at HRC but he played coy.

The voters will decide and may the best PERSON win.

Hillary: "He's very likeable. I agree with that. I don't think I'm that bad."

Obama: "You're likeable enough, Hillary. No doubt about it."

Hillary (still smiling): "I appreciate that."

25. Glad I checked back.
Actually I pointed out (and in your response you validated it again) that your interpretation of what transpired is you editorializing and not factual.

In reality and I think many would agree, Obama was softening the groin kick the moderator gave Hillary by telling her nobody like her, and you are erroneously excoriating him for what is in essence being nice.

I LOVE election time. Such interesting interpretations of reality.

45. Always happy to have a healthy discussion on reality.
Take a look at the tape (as I'm sure you have). The comment and the body language indicated that he has disdain and contempt for HRC. He felt forced into making the statement at the risk of being seen as not nice.

I don't particularly care what BO thinks of her, it's your interpretation of the situation through your rose colored glasses that's wrong.

36. So, this is what type of people we have on DU
"We" vilify the progressive Senator who has fought her whole life for progressive issues, until she nearly breaks, and then instead of holding out our collective hand to pick her up, you throw stones and laugh and joke at her expense.

She was embarassed after she started crying and tried to make herself talk to stop crying. God, if anyone of you had to put up with the crap she does, you'd be in a padded room blubberning.

Is DU really this ugly?

IWR: check
Patriot Act: check
Bankruptcy: check once (didn't vote once)
War Funding: check check check check (blank checks)
Saber Rattling: check

She and the DLC are our Corporate Choice.

That said, she is still a DAMN sight better than
any repug.

I have said all along that if she get the nomination
I will vote for her, but I would be a MUCH happier
democrat if the DLC was NOT pulling the strings and
shoving corporate control down our throats.

This is what PRIMARIES are for.

No one can really tell if she is being honest or if it is staged. That is a SERIOUS issue. It isn't that I dislike her, I'd like to believe her, but it all seems so convenient and eerily opportunistic. Even in between sobs she had time to skewer Obama in a calculating manner. She just does not come across as legit a serious issue that has doomed her chance to become president.

It'll take Hillary supporters sometime to understand this but she will not win.
