Oh crap, now KO is jumping on the Hate Hillary bandwagon.
He just compared her campaigning today to Rovian techniques -- overlooking the FACT that Rove cheats, lies and tricks, and all HRC is doing is campaigning on her strengths. She hasn't said a single WORD in criticism of her opponents. She merely stresses that she is 'ready' on day one.

Somehow, people choose to interpret that as an attack on somebody.

But Hillary does not attack that way -- no matter how many pundits say she does. Today, for example, she said NOTHING to justify Keith's animosity. She merely promoted her own abilities.

This seems double bad to me, because I count on KO to be ONE place on TV where facts trump spin.

Not today.

I watch his show and love it.

Right now I take issues with some broadcasters, KO, Randi Rhodes and Stephanie Miller ... but I still love them.

22. What shit?
What she said was that Al Qaeda bombed London the day after a new Prime Minister was elected, suggesting that terrorists are likely to "try" a new president immediately, to see what his/her reaction is. Her point being, that she already knows what to do in such a case, that she will have no learning curve. She didn't criticize anyone else, or say they would NOT be ready, only that she WOULD be.

That's known as accentuating the positive. There was nothing negative in her comment.

Keith resented her playing the 'fear' card, but I think he over-reacted. Are we not supposed to talk about terrorism now? Are we not supposed to consider whether experience makes a difference on day one with a new president?

Personally, this particular campaign tactic of Hillary's leaves me torpid. I don't think it's a good one. But it's just politics, nothing else. She's running for office and giving people reasons to vote for her.

Her words today do not merit being called Rovian, nor do her actions merit the derisive sneers of almost every professional pundit.

Including, I am sorry to say, Keith Olberman.

4. I've sadly come to the conclusion that many in this country are not ready
for a woman President. This includes people I am close to. Oh, they say that it's Hillary herself, but can't really name the qualities they would accept in a woman President. I think it explains the Obama phenomenon to some extent. I think there are WOMEN in this country who don't want a woman President. Pelosi has come in for some of the same drivel. She BLINKS! She's too old!

My own boyfriend included, yet he won't name one SINGLE WOMAN in politics that he would vote for as President.

Oh, and, BTW, KO comes on at 9:00 here (the episode that I can watch) so I haven't seen him yet.

P.S. - I am an Edwards' supporter, BTW. Hillary is not my first choice.

16. It has nothing to do with being a woman
It has to do with a CANDIDATE that is using RW tactics.
I am probably as close to a feminist as you will ever see, and I cannot WAIT until we have a female President.
However, Hillary is more of the same. She is corporate. She is all the things about what is happening in this country that I despise--and I would despise them regardless if they were packaged with a penis OR a vagina.

6. This is very amusing. For weeks KO has been accused of being a Clinton partisan.
Now that he's offered up some criticism he's suddenly a mean, bad guy who's unfairly bashed her. But Hillary invoked Al Qaeda -- played the fear card just like the Republicans -- and KO hates that shit. So we can expect him to be critical of her on that point.

The great thing about KO is that he's not partisan. You pull shit, he calls you on it no matter who you are. Good for him.

15. Damn
I wasn't even paying attention that it was 8 and just turned the channel when I saw this post.

That said, it doesn't surprise me that he would be angry at Hillary for using the politics of fear. That is something that he frequently rails against when Republicans do it, so why wouldn't he be angry when a Democrat does it?

And for fuck's sake, it doesn't have anything to do with her being a woman! She's starting to act like fuckin RUDY!! People need to stop preventing any criticism of Clinton by yelling sexism! and admit that her campaign is in desperation mode right now and that they are getting ugly.

27. Yeah, I remember when Bill was President,. It wore thin back then, too.
Anybody who watched what the right-wing -- with the help of the punditocracy -- did to Big Dog when he was president who does NOT think he was unfairly, unjustly, cruelly and wrongly persecuted by the press, probably does not belong on DU.

The very same people who did that to Bill are now attempting to damage his wife as much as they tried to damage him.

The Washington Press Corps always hated Bill. They hated Al Gore, too. And now they hate Hillary.

That's NOT imagination.

That's history.

29. If that is an exaggeration, please show me different.
I constantly hear how mean and vicious Hillary is, but every time I try to catch her at it, she fools me by sounding reasonable, if sometimes forceful, even self-promotional,(as any candidate should).

Please show me where she has said something actually negative about anyone on our side.

23. Bad Clinton Mistake Today
She did what she did ... she played the fear card. She really shouldn't have done that.

It is obvious that the Hillary Clinton campaign is having major message problems ... and every hour that goes by the problems and contradictions seem to compound upon themselves.

On the other hand, the Obama campaign seems to have found the groove of unaffiliated and Democratic voters. The Edwards campaign also seems to have found its stride.

This happens in politics ... it seems almost mysterious at times ... it is what makes politics addictive.

But, I have to say that the Clinton tactics in the last two weeks really seem to be ham-handed and clumsy. I don't think observing and noting this has anything at all to do with sexism -- it has to do mostly with (I suspect) out-of-touch advisors and consultants.

If Hillary loses big, let's get real, it is because her campaign started making lousy decisions and a near perfect Obama campaign capitalized on the opportunities.

33. Gee, I hope the Republicans promise not to play the 'fear' card.
Any candidate except Hillary and Richardson could be damaged by such an avenue of attack. So we better get the GOP to promise they won't embarrass our candidates by asking if they're ready to deal with terrorists on day one.

I'm sure they'll play as nice as we Dems expect we Dems to.

They wouldn't dare FIGHT, would they?
